WSWF has revealed the special judge lineup for the second elimination battle. Yoon-ji, who stood out in the 'WSWF' season, is a notable name.
Mnet's 'World of Street Woman Fighter' (directed by Kwon Young-chan, CP, and Choi Jeong-nam, PD; hereinafter referred to as 'WSWF') is stirring viewer anticipation by revealing the special judge lineup along with stills that capture the exciting atmosphere ahead of the second elimination battle.
The revealed special judge lineup for the second elimination battle includes Japan's new school hip-hop dancer Oshima, the world-class waacking genius Yoon-ji, and Canadian breaking gold medalist Phil Wizard (Phil Kim), creating an extraordinary lineup befitting a 'world-class' event. The three will participate in the judging of the second elimination crew alongside Mike Song and Park Jin-Young.
Oshima, originally from Japan, is a talented new school hip-hop dancer who started his career in 1994 and is currently a member of three crews: STRUT, BUTTER, and ZENITH. Having served as a battle judge at Japan's top dance competitions, he inspires expectations for insightful judging in 'WSWF'. Yoon-ji is a world-renowned waacking genius who advanced to the finals as a member of the mannequins in 'WSWF' Season 2. An accomplished dancer proficient in various genres, including waacking, krump, hip-hop, vogueing, popping, tutting, and locking, she has gained recognition in numerous domestic and international street dance battles.
Phil Wizard, a Korean-Canadian, is the first champion who won the historic gold medal in breaking at the 2024 Paris Olympics. With a record of winning a gold medal at the 2022 WDSF World Breaking Championships, he is already regarded as a legend in the breaking scene, and attention is drawn to the presence he will showcase in 'WSWF'.
The on-site stills revealed along with the lineup feature the three special judges Oshima, Yoon-ji, and Phil Wizard, which raises curiosity about the upcoming broadcast. Oshima noted, "I've never seen such a massive program on a global scale," adding, "I wanted to see firsthand how this program is produced, and I am truly honored to participate as a judge this time."
Yoon-ji mentioned, "While there was pressure in judging dancers with global skills, more than anything, I have experience from Season 2 and know how meaningful and deep this role is, so my desire to be part of the scene outweighed any hesitation." She added, "It was a time that lingered long after the battle ended. I hope the viewers won't miss this wonderful competition."
Phil Wizard stated, "WSWF is an incredible show where you can feel each dancer's passion and desire for victory," and he added, "Everyone showcased their best selves. Thinking that people from around the world will watch this episode makes me really excited, and I look forward to the stories that will be revealed in the future."
Mnet's 'WSWF' airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. (KST), and viewers can check out the new special judges' performances in the broadcast on July 1.
