The group ONEUS has created a new musical formula.
ONEUS released their mini album 11, '5x', today at 6 p.m. through various music streaming sites.
The title track 'X' forefronts a funky BASS riff, overturning conventional music stereotypes. By using melodic instruments solely as sources, ONEUS elevated the quality and invited listeners into an expanded musical world.
The music video released alongside the audio captures the members of ONEUS traversing through space and infinity. The aesthetic was striking, reminiscent of a fashion film. ONEUS's unique energetic choreography is also featured. 'X' received additional musical synergy from Renan, who created the choreography for aespa's 'Whiplash.'
In addition, '5x' includes five tracks in total, all of which members participated in creating: the dreamy yet sharp 'LOVE ME or LOSER,' which feels true love from a gap of loss; the intense 'RELOAD,' which portrays an unyielding tension that draws the eyes; the optimistic 'BAD,' which moves toward a destined attraction even if one momentarily loses their way in a cycle of repetition; and the refreshing and mysterious 'TIME MACHINE (Korean Ver.)' that takes us back to our happy times.
The mini album '5x' embodies ONEUS's infinite musical possibilities through the combination of the number '5', representing the five members, and 'x', an unknown variable that can take on any value. Like the unknown variable 'x' with no fixed answer, ONEUS has broken down their boundaries and announced a new narrative beginning.
