Disney+ has confirmed that the first unveiling of 'Twelve', which introduces a vast universe inspired by the Eastern mythology of the 12 zodiac signs, will take place on Aug. 23.
'Twelve' is an action hero story depicting battles against evil by 12 angels who live in human form to protect humanity.
Viewers will meet these 12 angels, who exist in the world as humans and protect them from evil, on Disney+. 'Twelve,' inspired by the 12 zodiac signs, presents a grand universe that spans from ancient to modern times. It has already become a topic of conversation with its unique worldview that symbolizes Tongyang culture and an all-star cast, including Ma Dong-seok, Park Hyung-sik, Seo In-guk, Sung Dong-il, and Lee Joo-bin.
The leader of the 12 angels, who possesses absolute power and represents the tiger, is played by Ma Dong-seok, a global actor known for the 'Crime City' series, which was the first Korean film to achieve a triple ten million audience record, and the film 'Eternals'. Having protected the human world for a long time, the 'tiger' unseals powers that had been sealed thousands of years ago and appears again to fight against powerful evil forces to protect everyone, working hard alongside the 12 angels. The evil force threatening angels and humans, symbolized by the crow, will be portrayed by Park Hyung-sik, who recently drew attention for his outstanding acting in the Disney+ series 'Buried Hearts', adding tension to the story.
The angel 'Won-seung', symbolizing the monkey and a clever dreamer of next-generation leadership, will be played by Seo In-guk, known for his strong performances in works like 'One Day My Room's Front Door Collapsed' and 'Ijae, Soon to Die'. The 'Chinese dragon' angel 'Mir', symbolizing a dragon with special powers sealed during a battle thousands of years ago, will be portrayed by Lee Joo-bin, who showcases a strong presence with delicate emotional performances in works like 'The Divorce Insurance' and 'Crime City 4'. Kyoo-pil will bring another intense impression as the 'Pig' angel 'Doni', known for his unique character portrayals in 'The Fiery Priest 2', 'Yeonmo', and 'Crime City 3'.
Additionally, Kang Mina, who is building a solid filmography across various genres such as 'Welcome to Samdalri', 'Midnight Horror: Six Nights', and 'Hotel Del Luna', will play 'Kang-ji', an angel symbolizing a dog who is quick and agile in battle but possesses a warm heart to protect humans. Sung Yu-bin, who perfectly embodies characters with a wide acting spectrum in works like 'No Way Out: The Roulette' and 'The Witch (魔女) Part 2. The Other One', will play 'Jwidol', an angel symbolizing a mouse, essential for the team with quick judgment. Ahn Ji-hye, who demonstrated acrobatic high-difficulty action in 'The Wilderness', will take on the role of 'Malsuk', an angel symbolizing a horse. Regina Rei, a rising actress, will appear as 'Bang-ul', an angel symbolizing a snake, to introduce herself to Korean audiences.
