Actor Choi Yu-ri is taking on zombie acting.
On the morning of 30th, at the production briefing of the movie 'My Daughter is a Zombie' held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul, director Pil Gam-seong, along with actors Jo Jung-seok, Lee Jung-eun, Jo Yeo-jeong, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Yu-ri, attended and shared their thoughts.
'My Daughter is a Zombie' is a comic drama based on the webtoon of the same name, featuring Jo Jung-seok, Lee Jung-eun, Jo Yeo-jeong, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Yu-ri, who will showcase performances that cross between comedy and drama, boasting a high synchronization rate with the original characters and offering rich entertainment to the audience through the perfect chemistry of these talented actors.
Choi Yu-ri appeared as the child actor Kim Tae-ri in her previous work 'Alien + Human.' Having grown tremendously, he expressed, "I was really honored to be able to work with the director and seniors. I was very grateful to act in a beloved character in a work I have cherished for a long time."
In response, Yoon Kyung-ho said, "Yu-ri is really a wonderful actor. She gifted us all flowers. Congratulations. Actually, this is her first time at a production briefing, so we should be the ones gifting her." When Park Kyung-rim joked, "Why didn't you?" Yoon Kyung-ho quipped back, "That's why I learned from you," bringing laughter.
Director Pil Gam-seong explained, "I was really happy on my way to the set with such a brilliant lineup. I went with a grateful heart, thinking it was a dream casting. When everyone was there together, I hoped the artistic style would resemble. I am really thankful that this combination came together, and acting-wise, there is comedy, emotion, and thrill all in one scene. We should be able to transition freely, and the perfect actors did so well, making me feel proud and joyful all the time."
Choi Yu-ri took on the role of Su-a, the only zombie in 'My Daughter is a Zombie.' Wasn't there any difficulty in acting as a zombie? He stated, "I actually can't express myself physically very well. To become the character Su-a in this work, I diligently practiced under the guidance of a dance teacher and an instructor. I aimed to embody the unique feeling of a zombie while melting in Su-a's cuteness, referencing the movements of puppies or animals."
Meanwhile, the movie 'My Daughter is a Zombie' will meet audiences in theaters nationwide on July 30.
