YouTube mukbang creator Banz (real name Jeong Man-soo) announced his intention to delete his YouTube channel after losing an event match against Yoon Hyung-bin.
On the 29th, Banz left a short message on his YouTube community saying, 'I will keep my promise. I will upload my last video tomorrow.' This is an expression of his will to execute the promised 'YouTube channel deletion' after losing the match against Yoon Hyung-bin.
Previously, Banz participated in a special event match against Yoon Hyung-bin held at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the 28th. The two made headlines with their bold wager that 'the loser would delete their YouTube channel.'
The result was a complete victory for Yoon Hyung-bin. He achieved a TKO victory against Banz just 1 minute and 42 seconds into the first round, concluding a brief but intense match. Immediately after the match, Yoon Hyung-bin made a lighthearted suggestion: 'Instead of deleting the channel, let's upload my videos on Banz's channel,' but it seems that Banz decided to delete the channel to keep his promise.
Banz has been operating his YouTube channel since 2013, emerging as a pioneer of mukbang content in Korea. He gained attention for his neat eating manners and large portion consumption, earning the love of many fans, and currently has over 2.05 million subscribers.
As he wraps up 11 years of operating his channel, which sparked the early mukbang syndrome on YouTube, many fans are expressing their regret. Fans have reacted by saying, 'It's disappointing, but I hope you keep your promise,' 'I will subscribe again if you start over,' 'Creating a new account might be a better choice,' 'You made a wise choice,' and 'I hope you show a mature side by keeping your promise.'
Banz is expected to conclude his YouTube channel today (30th) with his last video.
