Adventure By Accident ranked among the most favored programs by Koreans, concluding amid much discussion.
In the survey released on the 30th by the polling firm Korea Gallup, 'Adventure By Accident Season 4' ranked third among the most favored broadcasting video programs by Koreans in June 2025.
The first place in the ranking went to KBS 2TV's weekend drama 'For Eagle Brothers,' while the second place was claimed by tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Our Unwritten Seoul.' Furthermore, 'Adventure By Accident 4' was followed in the rankings by MBC's another flagship program 'Home Alone' in fourth place, and Netflix's original series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' in fifth place. This made 'Adventure By Accident 4' stand out as it achieved the highest ranking among all variety shows aired during the same period. Additionally, this also marked the highest ranking among the 'Adventure By Accident' series since Korea Gallup began releasing rankings monthly since January 2013.
'Adventure By Accident' is a series variety program featuring Kian84, a webtoon artist and broadcaster known as the man who lives by accident. It showcases his journey around the world achieving his travel bucket list. After the first season in South America, season 2 in India, and season 3 in Madagascar along with a spin-off 'Musical Journey' in the U.S., season 4 presented the journey along the world's highest and most treacherous mountain path, the Chola Pass.
Especially, Kian84 was joined by original members, actor Lee Si-eon, travel YouTuber Pani Bottle, and the golden youngest member Dex from seasons 2 and 3, raising expectations. The reunion of the so-called 'Kian, Si-eon, Pani, and Dex' in 'Adventure By Accident 4' provided touching moments with the four brothers growing closer amid the strenuous journey through the Chola Pass. Their chemistry, akin to that of biological brothers, offered emotional changes reminiscent of a rollercoaster, transcending the integrated worldview of previous series.
Although Dex had to leave early due to personal commitments and could not participate in the final journey along the Chola Pass, the emotional impact remained strong. Kian84, Lee Si-eon, and Pani Bottle's journey to Songchanrim Temple, a Tibetan Buddhist temple and a site for prostration, among numerous monks and practitioners delivered solemn and profound emotions.
Even the process of purification was serious, and Kian84's remark, "Many people probably came here ready to face death," added deeper meaning. Lee Si-eon's earnest act of performing the prostration with the hope of having a child with his wife Seo Ji-seung brought tears to the viewers. In the end, he expressed his last farewell while sobbing, adding to the significance. Kian84, who usually does not shed tears, confessed, "I cried a lot after the prostration," stirring the viewers' emotions.
Regarding the journey of 'Adventure By Accident 4,' Director Kim Ji-woo of MBC, who directed the series, expressed in a Q&A interview released before the conclusion, "I was proud and grateful to hear that the fifth season, including the spin-off, is currently in progress and that 'the fifth is the most fun.' Seeing the chemistry among the four who have become closer than any season before, I feel that audiences resonate with the honest and comfortable emotions that pass among them, and they probably appreciate Kian84's sincere attitude of engaging with the locals without hesitation and embracing their culture without prejudice."
Fans of the series are still looking forward to the next installment of 'Adventure By Accident.' Can Lee Si-eon's words, "Not END but AND," come true? We anticipate another journey following 'Adventure By Accident 4.'
