Netflix series 'Squid Game' season 3 successfully concluded its finale event.
'Squid Game' season 3 tells the story of 'Gi-hun', who lost his best friend in the game after returning with his own purpose, and 'Front Man', who infiltrated the game while hiding his identity, as well as the final fate of the participants who survived in that brutal game. The series is receiving rave reviews not only from media around the world but also from viewers. Following the heated response, the '2025 K-Content Seoul Travel Week 'Squid Game' Parade' and finale fan event, co-hosted by Netflix and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, were wrapped up with great enthusiasm, featuring the main cast of 'Squid Game'.
The parade, which stretched from Gwanghwamun Square to Seoul Plaza, was composed of iconic symbols representing 'Squid Game', capturing fans' eyes and ears with colorful performances and dazzling sights. From a giant game invitation card decorated with ○△□ to iconic sculptures such as the pink soldier, piggy bank, dalgona balloons, and carousel, the finale performance by the Pink Guard marching band heated up the parade.
On the exterior wall of the Seoul Library, a 'Squid Game' concept media facade was displayed, adding a unique touch to the parade. Additionally, Seoul Plaza provided photo zones and experience zones where fans could participate in games like 'Young-hee' and 'Cheol-soo's jump rope game and the ddakji game, allowing them to vividly experience the world of 'Squid Game'.
During the fan event, director Hwang Dong-hyuk and actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Yim Siwan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Jo Yuri, Chae Guk-hee, Lee Da-wit, Noh Jae-won, Jeon Seok-ho, as well as season 2's Choi Seung-hyun, Lee Seo-hwan, Won Ji-an, Kim Beop-rae, Kim Si-eun, and season 1's Park Hae-soo, Jung Ho-yeon, Kim Joo-ryeong, Anupam Tripathi, and Lee Yoo-mi gathered to share a special time with fans. The fan event lifted the atmosphere as the actors appeared to the acapella of 'Way Back Then', the representative OST of 'Squid Game'. Following this, they shared simple thoughts with fans through interviews, marking the beginning of the fan event.
In the subsequent corner 'Fan's Choice - 'Squid Game' PICK!', the actors and fans spent time interacting together. By asking which game from 'Squid Game' they would survive best if they were participants, the witty responses from fans on-site and the actors' cheerful reactions created a lively atmosphere.
A tribute video reflecting on the journey from season 1 to season 3 of 'Squid Game' was also released, providing a special time to reminisce about the warm love and touching moments received from fans worldwide.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said, "To all the fans who came here and to the fans around the world, including those in Korea who watched the work, I want to sincerely thank you. It seems like we received a lot of love that is beyond our expectations. I have been very grateful all this time." Lee Jung-jae noted, "I have built many memories with the director and many scenes filled with memories with the actors come to mind even now. Thank you for supporting and loving 'Squid Game'. It feels like we are finally at the finale." Lee Byung-hun expressed, "It seems that this work has become a significant phenomenon that has drawn a big line in the history of our country's video culture. It was meaningful and an honor for me to be able to participate in such a work." He shared his gratitude and thoughts with the fans who joined the finale event.
Park Hae-soo from season 1 said, "I am overwhelmed and grateful. I sincerely thank all the actors who made the world nervous, cry, and touched during seasons 1, 2, and 3." Meanwhile, the 'Squid Game' finale event amazes once again with the scale of the parade and the fan event. This event was completed after a preparation period of about 348 days starting from July 2024, with a total of 456 staff involved, showcasing an impressive scale just by the numbers.
The experience zone set up in Seoul Plaza was filled with a total of 10 themes representing 'Squid Game', such as ddakji man, carousel, and jump rope, capturing the five senses of fans. The parade, which stretched 1.2 km, featured 'Young-hee', who stood 7.5 meters tall, drawing attention. About 38,000 fans watched the parade, and around 9,000 attendees filled the fan event venue, while the online live broadcast recorded 4.4 million views within two hours of its start, once again proving the intense interest and popularity of 'Squid Game' worldwide.
This parade, presented with an immense scale and completeness, embodied the world of 'Squid Game' into urban reality, establishing itself as another special content.
'Squid Game' season 3, which successfully wrapped up the parade and fan event celebrating the finale of a series loved worldwide, is currently streaming on Netflix.
