The 'voice color artisan' main vocalists had a hot meeting.
The music production company Donuts Culture announced that the global remake project song 'Old Song,' featuring Ken (KEN), Youngjae (YOUNGJAE), Hui (HUI), and Choi Sang-yeob (LUCY) in the vocals, will be released today (29th) at 6 p.m. on various music sites.
Donuts Culture's global remake project aims to expand cultural consolidation by releasing domestic music in various countries, based on the universal emotional impact of music, while infusing new life into songs and connecting emotions and culture as one.
The first song of this global remake project is the emotional ballad 'Old Song' by the acoustic indie music leader Standing Egg. With a warm melody and emotional lyrics, 'Old Song' has been consistently loved by artists of various genres and fans. Last year, it gained great popularity again when a remake version featuring Heo Gak, Lim Han-byeol, Lee Mu-jin, Lee Jin-sung (Monday Kids), Kim Hee-jae, and #Hello was released through the SBS music entertainment program 'The Listen: Time With You.'
In this 'Old Song' global project, the four members taking on the main vocalist role in their group are opening the doors. Ken (KEN) of VIXX captivates listeners with a refreshing yet appealing vocal tone, Youngjae (YOUNGJAE) of GOT7 possesses a smooth and sensual attractive voice, Hui (HUI) of Pentagon sings with a sweet voice and delicate sensibility, and Choi Sang-yeob of band LUCY has a powerful vocal range and a unique voice, together presenting an expanded musical sensibility through their unique vocals.
Reinterpreted by the four members' voices, 'Old Song' fully preserves the poetic melody of the original while creating synergy with a splendid J-POP style arrangement. Notably, the intro begins with a strong guitar sound, and the strings become dramatically more prominent as it progresses to the latter half. 'Old Song' will initially start in Korea and will proceed with global remakes through collaborations with artists from various countries.
Along with the music release, a movie-like music video will also be unveiled. The music video for 'Old Song,' filmed against the modest yet beautiful backdrop of Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan, depicts poignant moments of two individuals sharing a single earphone while sitting side by side on a bench, cycling together, feeling warmth while dozing off on each other's shoulders, and reminiscing about the memories of holding hands while walking, leading to moments of coincidental reunions on the street as time passes. These moments of love, nostalgic and tender, are depicted as they traverse between the past and present, resonating with the song's lyrics.
Additionally, a collaboration version of the music video for 'Old Song' and the film '366 Days' will be released simultaneously. Directed by Shinjo Takehiko, the acclaimed filmmaker behind the popular Japanese romance film 'I Just Love You,' this project stars rising actors Akaso Eiji and Kamishiraishi Moka. It has gained word-of-mouth popularity after its release in Japan, achieving the number one spot at the box office. The touching love story of two protagonists who travel between Okinawa and Tokyo, enhanced by beautiful visuals, harmoniously amplifies the synergy of the lyrics and melody of 'Old Song.'
The 'Old Song' by Ken, Youngjae, Hui, and Choi Sang-yeob, which opens the global remake project, can be enjoyed on all music sites starting today (29th) at 6 p.m.
