Actress Lee Mi-sook confessed her shocking experience of suffering a financial loss of 50 to 60 million won due to a phishing scam, and revealed how much she has changed since then.
Recently sharing her various daily activities through her personal YouTube channel 'Suksurious Mi-sook', Lee Mi-sook presented a neatly organized home in her first content, stating, "I should be able to do everything on my own now," conveying her independent and unpretentious life. However, beneath that lay a trauma that is not easily erased.
In a subsequent video, Lee Mi-sook displayed a cautious demeanor while preparing to film ChatGPT content during the program installation process. She expressed, "I think I accessed it through Chrome when I was phished before," showing a tense expression and soon shared her shocking experience.
"At that time, my bank account was wiped out, and about 50 to 60 million won was lost. Everything was charged to my card linked to my phone within just four hours, from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m.," Lee Mi-sook recalled the incident, adding, "Since then, I don't do anything on my phone. I feel as if my phone was cloned, and they watched me enter my password," revealing the lingering fear she still carries.
After learning from the police investigation that the money was cashed out through internet shopping transactions, she was shocked and stated that since then, she has thoroughly blocked mobile payments. When the production team suggested, "Shall we try installing it?", she waved her hands and responded, "I don't want to. I'm canceling the installation. I'm scared," showing that the shock from that day is still vivid.
Perhaps it is because of this. In reality, her daily life was truly unpretentious. The home she shared in her YouTube content, located in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, was organized with practicality in mind, contrasting with her past life as an actress who stood on stage dressed glamorously for a long time; at home, she welcomed the production team in comfortable athletic wear.
She even joked while pointing to neatly organized Hermes boxes in a corner of her closet, asking, "Isn't this the kind of thing everyone has?"
