Singer Jeong Dong-won shared his daily life of personally bathing his pet dog.
On the 26th, a video titled "ep08. Bathing a puppy in the jacuzzi?! (feat. Dongwon House)" was uploaded on Jeong Dong-won's YouTube channel.
That day, Jeong Dong-won said, "Our princess is, as you can see, quite smelly, and while I do like that smell, she is too dirty right now." He added, "Our Bear hasn't been bathed in quite a while, so her fur smells, and I think she needs to get washed. She is a beautiful child. This is not her usual state. Bear looks completely different before and after a bath. She is usually a pretty girl," as he headed to the bathroom to bathe his pet dog, Bear.
The luxury jacuzzi was shallow with water, and when asked, "Did you fill it with water?" he responded, "Since Bear is small, I sit there (to bathe her)." The staff, surprised, asked, "Are you going in together?" and Jeong Dong-won explained, "Yes, so there's a lot to do."
Afterward, Jeong Dong-won sat on the edge of the tub holding Bear and carefully poured water over her. He stated, "It's a special way to bathe her," and added, "Holding her gives a sense of security because Bear dislikes water." He further noted, "I handle her very gently, like a baby," and emphasized, "The water temperature is just right. It needs to be lukewarm. It shouldn't be cold or hot."
Jeong Dong-won remarked, "Look at her yellow fur. Is Bear really a Bichon? I always bathe her like this. When I bathe Teddy, I fill it to about this level because he is bigger. When I bathe Teddy, I shower together with him. I get completely soaked. Since Bear is a princess, she gets bathed beautifully. We need to wash her eye crust well. Initially, it should just be water. They say water shouldn't get in their ears. Kids with floppy ears can develop infections. So, I put in ear drops and gently massage them to get the earwax out about two to three times a week. That's really important."
When he exclaimed, "I've never seen someone bathe a dog so delicately," he explained, "If I don't do it like this, when I leave them alone, Bear trembles. She has never been in the water, so she fears it; thus, I always need to do it this way. Teddy is difficult; he needs an expert's touch, so he has to be taken to someone else. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours just to dry him off completely."
He then asked, "Since you say Teddy bathes together with you, does Dong-won also bathe completely at that time?" Jeong Dong-won replied, "You have to take everything off to bathe Teddy. I can't bath him like this." He added, "Bear is well-behaved." He commented, "That's right. It's important how she behaves after bathing. Even when she goes into the drying room, she flips out trying to get out, and if I'm not careful, it's a mess on the blanket and sofa. Luckily, she doesn't seem to dislike the shower head that much. If we had wet wipes, that would be perfect. The shower head is loud and sprays water, so it scares her. If I wrap her with about four wet wipes, water trickles out, and she doesn't seem to be scared of that," sharing some tips.
After finishing the shower, Jeong Dong-won attempted to dry Bear's fur with a towel, and at this moment, the escaped Bear wiped her wet body on Jeong Dong-won's clothes and jumped on the sofa, creating a mess. Startled, Jeong Dong-won managed to bring Bear back after some chaos, dried her off with a towel, and thoroughly dried her with a hairdryer. He explained, "The wind strength is important, more so than the heat. You also have to brush her. If her fur gets tangled, you have to trim it. I brush her every other day." While Bear was in the drying room, he cleaned up the mess and said, "As I do this, I really reflect on how much effort my grandparents and parents must have put in back in the day."
