In the 26th season of 'I am SOLO', two couples, Kwang-soo-Hyun-sook and Sang-cheol-Jung-sook, were formed.
The episode aired on the 25th on SBS Plus and ENA's reality dating program 'I am SOLO' showcased the expected final couple, Sang-cheol-Jung-sook, along with the surprise couple formation of Kwang-soo-Hyun-sook, which left viewers delighted.
On that day, Young-sook, who was set to enjoy a 'two dates in one day' with Young-soo, said, "Honestly, I think I like you, oppa. I want to take care of you," calling Young-soo 'oppa' for the first time. In response to Young-sook's confession, Young-soo said, "That's a nice thing to hear," but added, "I will think about it a bit. Whether you make the final choice or not, let's go out (for) a meal and drink coffee together," leaving his response ambiguous. Young-soo continued, "If we choose each other, we'll be a couple displayed in front of the entire nation," hinting at the pressure of the final choice. Feeling hurt by Young-soo's words, Young-sook expressed her disappointment, saying in front of the production team, "Did I ever say I would meet outside?" and shared, "I feel this sense of dissonance while looking elsewhere." Additionally, she voiced her distrust, stating, "I had doubts about (Young-soo's) sincerity."
Young-ho and Soon-ja embarked on their first 'one-on-one date,' but there were no significant developments. Young-ho, curious about Soon-ja's feelings on the final selection, said, "After meeting for more than three days, we've grown quite attached. So, I'm being more cautious," ultimately hiding his true feelings. Soon-ja expressed her frustration about the lack of progress, saying, "The more seriously I think about my choice, the more I ponder how I will choose it."
Sang-cheol entered a 'two-on-one date' with Jung-sook and Young-ja, resembling a battle. Young-ja asked Sang-cheol if there was a difference from the previous 'two-on-one date,' to which Sang-cheol replied, "The production team said earlier, 'Now is the time to find out more about someone.' Hearing that felt like being hit with a hammer," implying he was more mindful of Jung-sook than Young-ja. During a subsequent 'one-on-one conversation,' Jung-sook expressed her dissatisfaction, saying, "I felt uncomfortable after dating Young-ja first and then talking in the accommodations." Sang-cheol asserted, "I mentioned in the production interview that the person I have feelings for is Jung-sook. I can't have feelings for two people at the same time," making his feelings clear. Jung-sook responded, "I feel reassured," smiling broadly. Shortly after, in his 'one-on-one conversation' with Young-ja, Sang-cheol confessed, "When I think about who is in my heart, it's Jung-sook who comes to mind." Young-ja replied, "I think we could be good friends," and smiled coolly. After the date with Sang-cheol, Young-ja told the production team, "I lost my combat power. I worked hard, but this is the outcome, and I have no regrets."
Meanwhile, after the date, Young-sook appeared in the shared living room and expressed her regret in front of Young-soo, saying, "I should have dated Young-cheol earlier." Young-cheol playfully replied, "I also wrote a letter and left it in the room.~" Young-sook joked again, saying, "I almost cried when I saw that," which led Young-soo to start paying attention to her, believing it was true. When Young-sook went to get water, he followed her and asked, "Am I doing something wrong?" After parting from Young-soo, Young-sook told the single women, "Young-soo said, 'Whether I make the final selection or not, let's meet outside,'" and the 'lawyers,' Hyun-sook and Jung-sook, advised her to set a condition, saying, "If you don't make the final selection, it seems difficult to meet separately outside."
Around the same time, Kwang-soo was closely supporting Hyun-sook in the common living room, delivering a handwritten poem. Hyun-sook, upon seeing this, said, "It's true that Kwang-soo is someone I need," expressing gratitude. However, Hyun-sook also shared, "There are times when I find Kwang-soo a bit overwhelming." Kwang-soo expressed his bittersweet feelings, saying, "Is this all we've built together?" Hyun-sook explained, "At first, Kwang-soo felt like a friend, but now I see him as a potential partner. It's confusing because I've never transitioned from a friend to a partner." This seemed to lighten Kwang-soo's mood as he warmly assured, "Oppa will always be next to you," and added, "I'm looking forward to tomorrow!" activating his 'Kwang-soo writing', and finally returned to his room after 5 a.m.
On the day of the 'final selection,' Young-soo met with Young-sook and asked, "I was wondering if there was something bothering you about me." Young-sook conveyed her feelings, stating, "If you are going to meet me outside, please make the final selection. I don't want to meet in an ambiguous way without making a choice." Kwang-soo called Hyun-sook out after packing brunch and attempted to solidify their bond, saying, "There hasn't been anyone who has taken care of me from the side, right? Then, I feel very empty. You can't stand that. Keep taking care of me from the side, forever." Following this, Young-sik shared with Hyun-sook the meaning of the final selection, promising to become comfortable enough to meet near their workplace in the adjacent building.
In the final selection, Sang-cheol and Jung-sook were the first couple to emerge. The 'popular guy,' Young-ho, conceded, saying, "There wasn't enough time to decide something within 5 nights and 6 days," and opted out of the final selection. After that, Soon-ja and others, including Young-cheol, Kyung-soo, Young-ja, Ok-soon, Young-soo, Young-sook, and Young-sik, all chose to forgo the final decision. Finally, Kwang-soo rushed to Hyun-sook, who chose him in the final selection. Immediately afterward, in an interview with the production team, Hyun-sook remarked, "I have fallen for Kwang-soo. After flirting excessively, I wonder if it's like brainwashing," and laughed. Kwang-soo expressed his joy, saying, "I feel like I'm floating."
