Kim Jong-min, the 'new groom,' will launch a collaboration product with a large corporation.
On the 25th, a video titled "The reason Kim Jong-min couldn't say anything for six months" was uploaded to the 'Merry-Go-Round' channel.
'Kim Jong-min's Mendeituh Demeindem,' hosted by Kim Jong-min, had stopped uploading after the Hibap episode released last December. This led to an outpouring of critical comments directed at the production team, which responded, "We apologize. We will now explain the reason why Demeindem has been absent for six months."
In a video released afterward, Kim Jong-min met with the ramen manager of GS Retail's processed food team and the ramen production manager of Paldo in January. The manager proposed the collaboration, saying, "Our company is serious about ramen, and since you are too, we thought we would ask if we could collaborate on content for 'Demeindem' and requested to arrange today's meeting."
In response, Kim Jong-min asked, "So what do we need to do?" and the manager explained, "You used to share a lot of recipes, right? Please feel free to give us your ideas today, and we will try to develop them together."
After selecting the product to collaborate on, Kim Jong-min exchanged ideas and concluded the meeting by stating, "My goal is to surpass (his) older brother Kyung-kyu," evoking laughter.
As time passed and a few months later, Kim Jong-min met again with the managers to test the taste of the completed product. He expressed his satisfaction, saying, "The aroma is nutty, with a bit of cheese scent and a hint of Omori flavor. It's decent. It's spicier than I expected. It's deliciously spicy. I think having a triangular gimbap here would pair perfectly. It's delicious. Eating it now, it tastes like adding noodles to kimchi fried rice. Plus, the Omori kimchi doesn't get greasy while you eat it; it's quite good."
The production team later revealed, "Even though the comments were harsh, we couldn't say anything during our confidentiality period. Jong-min was diligently working on ramen development throughout that time," adding, "After numerous tests over N months, it came out," and "We made it captivating." This was a belated announcement about the collaboration ramen launch.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-min married a businessperson 11 years his junior in April.
