Actors Lee Dohyun and Shin Si A have been confirmed to star in the Hong sisters' new Netflix drama 'Grand Galaxy Hotel.'
On the 26th, the production team of the drama 'Grand Galaxy Hotel' announced that "Lee Dohyun and Shin Si A will play the leading roles."
This work is a romantic fantasy genre that tells the story of a hotel, which has maintained the top customer satisfaction among memorial hotels worldwide, after the president disappears without a trace. Writers Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran, who have expanded the world of romantic fantasy through works like 'My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,' 'Master's Sun,' and 'Hotel Del Luna,' are in charge of the script, while director Oh Chung Hwan, who collaborated on 'Hotel Del Luna,' will once again take the megaphone.
Especially noteworthy is the casting of the male and female protagonists. Lee Dohyun chose this work as his comeback project after completing military service, raising expectations, while fresh face Shin Si A secured the leading role. Lee Dohyun will play the role of the hotel's new president 'Eun Ha,' leading a mysterious atmosphere, and Shin Si A will portray 'Go Sang Soon,' a hotelier whose life is turned upside down by the appearance of Eun Ha, showcasing her charm through a surprising transformation.
Initially, actress Go Minsi was strongly mentioned as the female lead, but her final casting fell through. The production team has not disclosed any official statement, but there are cautious interpretations suggesting that the recent bullying allegations that emerged online may have had an impact. Earlier, in May, accusations of violence during school days were raised regarding a person presumed to be Go Minsi in an online community, to which her side stated that the claims are "groundless."
Production company Imaginus stated, "The Hong sisters, known for their rich characters and solid world-building, the visually striking director Oh Chung Hwan, and the fresh combination of Lee Dohyun and Shin Si A will showcase a new evolution of K-romantic fantasy," adding, "It will approach global viewers in a way different from the existing 'Hotel Del Luna.'"
The team of 'Grand Galaxy Hotel' plans to begin filming in the second half of this year.
