Travel creator Pani Bottle appears on 'House of Home!'
On the 26th, the MBC entertainment show 'House of Home!' (abbreviated as 'Homes') features travel creator Pani Bottle traveling to Chuncheon, Gangwon Province for a local exploration.
The broadcast that day is prepared as 'Local Exploration - Chuncheon Edition', where they embark on a nationwide exploration tour with local residents. So far, 'Homes' has attracted attention for its very special local explorations with locals from various cities. The local exploration in Chuncheon features Pani Bottle, a local resident, who embarks on a local exploration with his close friend Yang Dong-min.
The two head towards the Yulim Theater near Myeongdong, a hot spot for young people in Chuncheon. Pani Bottle, having heard that the Yulim Theater, which has represented Chuncheon for 40 years, is currently up for sale, remarks that it is a familiar place that no one in Chuncheon doesn't know, reminiscing about childhood memories.
Upon entering the theater, Yang Dong-min explains that the cinema closed in 2006 and is now up for sale. The two carefully examine the screening room and projection room, expressing their regret over the theater closing down. They propose various remodeling ideas, such as using the closed theater as a cafe or an escape room, which heightens curiosity.
During filming, Pani Bottle spots his mother watching the scene from a distance. He mentions that before filming for 'Homes,' his mother wanted to see Yang Dong-min in person and said she would watch from afar, but she actually came. When Pani Bottle greeted her, it is said that his mother hurriedly left while covering her face.
Next, the two visit Pani Bottle's childhood home and alma mater. Pani Bottle explains that the area was known for having many pharmacies since the Joseon Dynasty, earning it the name 'Yaksa-dong,' and recalls memories of his childhood, stating that it was a 5-minute walk from his school to home. He humorously confesses that during childhood, he couldn't relieve himself at school and recalls a time when he ran home and ended up having an accident in front of his house.
Additionally, a shared library converted from an abandoned house near Chuncheon Cathedral is introduced. Yang Dong-min expresses disbelief and awe at how the derelict house, which was left unattended for several years, has transformed into a beautiful space with outstanding landscaping and a warm atmosphere.
The local exploration of Chuncheon with Pani Bottle airs on Thursday night at 10 p.m. on MBC 'House of Home!'
