Actor Jin Tae-hyun successfully completed his thyroid cancer surgery and expressed heartfelt gratitude to actor Kim Woo-bin, who sent support and comfort, evoking emotion. Another admirable deed by Kim Woo-bin has been added.
Jin Tae-hyun stated on his social media on the 24th, "I successfully completed the surgery around 11 a.m. on June 24, 2025." He also mentioned, "The professor personally visited me in the recovery room and held my hand tightly while saying, 'Don't worry anymore.' Thanks to the concerns and support from many people, the cancer cells inside me have disappeared."
He continued, "The time spent with the word cancer has taught me many lessons in my life. I am fortunate that it is a treatable cancer, but my heart is heavy when I think of those who cannot recover." He added, "I sincerely support all cancer patients across the country. I will pray together and walk alongside through sharing."
Above all, Jin Tae-hyun revealed that he was deeply moved by the support of junior actor Kim Woo-bin, whom he had never met before. He said, "Although I have not personally interacted with Woo-bin, he reached out first, saying, 'Senior, overcome the illness.' I will cherish that warm heart deeply and strive to be a good senior to someone as well."
Earlier, Jin Tae-hyun confessed that he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer during a health check-up in April. At that time, he shared his feelings about the unexpected news he received while undergoing the health check-up with his wife, Park Si-eun. As a result, he temporarily stepped back from the 'divorce contemplation camp.'
It appears that Kim Woo-bin contacted Jin Tae-hyun to send support after hearing this news. Kim Woo-bin himself had faced a battle with nasopharyngeal cancer after being diagnosed in 2017. Nasopharyngeal cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the upper part of the pharynx, which extends from the base of the brain to the nasal cavity. It is located in an area that is difficult to remove through surgery, and since radiation therapy has favorable results, Kim Woo-bin is known to have undergone over 35 radiation therapies and more than three chemotherapy treatments.
"One day, I will greet you healthily as if nothing happened," said Kim Woo-bin, who kept that promise. He was declared fully cured in 2019 and met the public again after six years with the tvN drama "Our Blues." He completed the film "Alien Plus Human" splendidly as a way to repay director Choi Dong-hoon, who had waited for him, while also appearing in the entertainment program "Unexpected Business," working vigorously in good health.
Kim Woo-bin instilled positive energy in Jin Tae-hyun, just as he overcame his illness. Although they have not met either in their work or privately, he sincerely conveyed his well-wishes as a fellow member of the entertainment industry.
