Earlier, it was an awkward seven-year gap. The two set off on a trip together for the first time. They met early in the morning and headed for the train without saying a word. After a meal, it was the first time they met in about two weeks. Oh Kwang-rok recalled, "My mother passed away two months ago, and she was waiting for her grandson," and mentioned the sad story of trying to call his grandson but it didn't go through. His son reflected, "I saw my dad's shoulders crying on the other side of the receiver," and Oh Kwang-rok added that he was trying to speak to his son, but as soon as he mentioned his grandmother, he got emotional, recalling that his son asked, "Are you okay, Dad?" Oh Kwang-rok's son stated he hasn't spoken to his grandparents for nine years, explaining that he cut off contact with his grandparents just like he did with his father. He expressed regret, saying he was a very heartless grandson and now headed to his grandmother's house, which no longer had his grandmother.

Oh Kwang-rok's eyes welled up at the farewell with his mother, who had passed less than two months prior. Oh Kwang-rok said, "I should have made more effort to reach out to my son, who had been silent for so long, and knock on his door. My efforts were insufficient." He then turned to the photo of his mother and said, "I will be a good dad to my son, please help me," becoming emotional. He told his son, "Let's come again, let's come often," as he left the place.
When asking his son if spending a day with his dad had changed his heart, the son replied, "I can't explain what it feels like; it's a mental task I need to resolve, there are many holes, but I have found the courage to confront my wounds without avoiding them." Oh Kwang-rok said, "It seems we have helped each other and tried to approach each other honestly. Thanks to my grandfather being present, it seems I've spent more time with my son without any barriers." He added, "After my divorce (when he was 5), I feel regret for not being responsible for my son and sincerely apologize. I want to approach my son more and listen to him, to love him more, and to become a good dad and son pair." He concluded by saying, "I am grateful for creating precious time and will do my best to be a good friend to my son."
