'You Quiz on the Block' Rallal revealed the story of how they lost all the money earned over the past six years.
On the 25th, the tvN entertainment program 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereinafter 'You Quiz') featured creator Rallal, who has 1.85 million subscribers.
On that day, Yoo Jae-seok asked, "Was your dream to be a musical actor?" Rallal replied, "That's right. I asked to be taught acting since middle school, but I wasn't given the chance. My mom had a difficult home life, and I worked part-time while secretly taking entrance exams for acting schools and always tried, but I failed every time."
They continued, "My mom always ran a piano studio. It had to be big, right? I hated that. Our house was so small, but my mom maintained our livelihood with that, and all the pianos were secondhand. Back then, it felt like a shabby studio, but I wanted to live there and sleep there more than at home because it was better than our home."
Rallal's mother said, "It was really tough back then. When we lived in the basement, water would come in, and the piano legs would get soaked. Rallal was very deep-minded. They were not the type of kid to show that they wanted something. It broke my heart to see that. "
Rallal said, "I really wanted to do musicals. So I practiced at home every day, and my mom knew, but acting academies were expensive, so she would say, 'Don't even mention that.' How can I afford the entrance fees when they're so expensive and far away? I couldn't go, so I just followed along. I kept imitating at home repeatedly."
In the end, Rallal said they started musicals by auditioning without a plan in Daehangno. They expressed, "I wasn't compensated well. It was really hard to sustain. Even if I couldn't get compensated, it would have been okay if I could maintain it, but I was already working 3 to 4 part-time jobs, so realistically, I thought, 'I can't do this' and gave up and went back to my company."
Nonetheless, Rallal, who couldn't give up their dream, noted that they couldn't hold onto other jobs for long, saying, "Even when I worked part-time, I kept singing and was stopped all the time." They explained their varied experiences at part-time jobs from middle school, which included working at a meat restaurant, a factory, serving as a secretary, and interpreting.
Meanwhile, although they made a fortune from the character Lee Myung-hwa, they drew attention by saying it was a deficit. They noted, "Since I have never done business, when it comes to producing goods, I was told that if you order once, you can't make it again. I had to decide the quantity of goods to sell for two weeks, but I have no idea how much to make. I had no agency or company to seek advice from, so I calculated the number of daily department store visitors and multiplied it by two weeks."
When Yoo Jae-seok and Cho Sae-ho asked, "How much total quantity did you make?" they replied, "I can't share that, but I lost all the money I earned over the past six years. I really need to earn money for diapers," adding, "I ended up making 50 different items as I created various goods. I was planning to throw away the large stock left over, but it cost double. So, I stored it in a warehouse in Ilsan. The storage fees are also piling up. I'm already in the negative compared to the money earned so far."
They also joked, "I hope they pay me my grants quickly today. It's really tough."
