Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook spoke about their concerns regarding the wedding gifts for Kim Jun-ho and Kim Ji-min.
On the 25th, a video titled "From hotel weddings to long-distance weddings... How much should one give? In this era of high prices, let's set a clear standard for wedding gifts!" was uploaded on the 'Bibo TV' channel.
That day, Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook read a story about concerns regarding wedding gifts and reflected, "We seem to have dealt with this several times, but it is an eternal assignment." Kim Sook noted, "We've addressed this multiple times, but we must talk about it again because times have changed. The value of currency has decreased, the costs of venues have risen, and perceptions have increased, but my salary remains the same; therefore, I think we need to decide again."
Song Eun-yi said, "It's something I hadn't considered, but I think it could happen. Traveling outside Seoul incurs transportation fees. This person lives in Seoul. If we take transportation costs into account, even with discounts, KTX tickets can cost about 100,000 won for a round trip," and Kim Sook added, "And food prices these days aren't just 50,000 won. Everything has gone up, so hotels start at 200,000 won. If I don't eat, is 100,000 won acceptable? Do I have to pay 200,000 won just because I'll be eating? Isn't that ambiguous? In the past, we only gathered close associates in a small venue. Family and relatives gathered. But now, it seems that weddings are focused more on being somewhat of a spectacle."
In response, Song Eun-yi stated, "The base is reciprocity. If I give 50,000 won, it should be 50,000; if I give 100,000 won, it should be 100,000." Kim Sook asked, "If you were the older sister, how much would you give? It's a hotel, so it's 200,000 won." In response, Song Eun-yi questioned, "What about how much would you give for Jun-ho's wedding?" and said, "I don't eat much and just pay the money, so there's actually no burden."
Hearing this, Kim Sook replied, "Jun-ho is getting married for the second time. I went to his first wedding, back when we used to work together on 'Gag Concert.'" Song Eun-yi also acknowledged, "I attended the first one too," and remarked, "Ji-min is having her first wedding." Kim Sook commented, "Ji-min is having her first one," but also inquired, "Isn't it okay to just give for Ji-min? Isn't it enough to just give for Ji-min? What more would Jun-ho expect? We've never been to his wedding."
Song Eun-yi proposed, "Should we call Jun-ho? Let's ask if that's okay," and Kim Sook joked, "If he gets upset, we really have to give. We could avoid it, but..." while playfully connecting the call. Song Eun-yi asked Kim Jun-ho, who was filming 'Solo Travel,' "Should we give wedding gifts?" and Kim Jun-ho replied, "If it's for you and Sook, around 500 won each should be enough," which angered Kim Sook.
Kim Jun-ho responded, "You earn a lot, right?" and Kim Sook pointed out, "But listen. Jun-ho, pay attention. Of course, I will give something to Ji-min. But for you... We've never gone to your wedding, right? We went to your first wedding." In response, Kim Jun-ho said, "So, it's a bit awkward for me to talk about it." Song Eun-yi remarked, "Isn't asking for 500 each a little bit greedy?" Kim Jun-ho admitted, "I can't help it since I already laid the groundwork," but he also confessed, "The people who came might feel a little embarrassed."
He explained, "I want to have a small wedding for Ji-min because it's her first; I want to make it beautiful like a princess, so we are choosing a nice venue."
In particular, Kim Dae-hee, who was also filming 'Solo Travel,' protested when the topic of wedding gifts arose, saying, "Jun-ho is getting married and the bride is his beloved junior, Kim Ji-min. Shouldn't we give gifts on both sides? Rather, Jun-ho should be apologizing to his colleagues for this situation," which drew laughter.
Song Eun-yi stated, "Sook and I think this: If you're okay with it, we want to give gifts only to Ji-min." Kim Jun-ho responded, "That's a good idea," but added, "Instead, please ask for approximately the amount originally planned. 200 won is also acceptable," joking. Kim Sook asked again, "Aren't you going to feel disappointed if we don't give?" and Kim Jun-ho reassured, "Not at all. I just want Ji-min to be happy. Ji-min is 9 years younger than me. So, if I have more guests and more money comes in for my side, I worry that Ji-min might feel overshadowed."
Kim Sook remarked, "Then I'll just give to Ji-min," but with a lukewarm response, added, "That's a bit disappointing," and Song Eun-yi chimed in, "It feels like we can't fully express our true feelings," which further elicited laughter.
