J-Hope has set a new record for Korean solo artists on the U.S. Billboard charts.
According to the latest charts released by the U.S. music publication Billboard on the 24th (dated June 28), BTS member J-Hope's new song "Killin' It Girl (feat. GloRilla)" has entered the main song chart, the Hot 100, at number 40. This marks his 8th chart entry as a solo artist and sets a record for the most entries by a Korean solo artist. Additionally, J-Hope has broken his personal best on the Hot 100 with this song. Previously, his best result was 60th place with the solo single "on the street (with J. Cole)" released in 2023.
J-Hope has achieved the remarkable feat of placing all three songs released as part of his solo single project on the Hot 100. The first song, "Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel)," debuted at 66, and "MONA LISA" secured 65th place. The final song of his solo single project, "Killin' It Girl (feat. GloRilla)," achieved the highest ranking, demonstrating the increasing popularity he experiences as he continues his activities.
"Killin' It Girl (feat. GloRilla)" has also shown strong performance on detail charts. It ranked 2nd on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart and 3rd on the Global 200 chart, securing positions in the top tier. This is the first time J-Hope has entered the top five on both charts. Additionally, "MONA LISA" has re-entered at 150th on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart. Furthermore, "Killin' It Girl (feat. GloRilla)" reached the top spot on the Digital Song Sales chart.
This week, the Billboard charts highlighted significant achievements by BTS members. Jin's mini album, "Echo," has its title track "Don't Say You Love Me" at 34th on the Global 200, while Jimin's solo album "MUSE" has its title track "Who" at 87th, and Jungkook's solo single "Seven (feat. Latto)" is at 99th, maintaining its ranking. The three songs are positioned at 19th, 48th, and 57th on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart, respectively.
Meanwhile, J-Hope's "Killin' It Girl (feat. GloRilla)" is a hip-hop genre song that expresses the exhilarating feeling of falling for someone at first sight. This song entered the British Official Chart's "Official Singles Top 100" (dated June 20-26), achieving a ranking of 30, which is the best result for a J-Hope solo song.
