The late Park Ji-a has left a lasting impression through her final work, 'Salon de Holmes.' With her realistic portrayal of the community center president, she has delivered a lasting resonance to the home theater and conveyed her passionate acting spirit from her lifetime.
ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Salon de Holmes' (directed by Min Jin-ki and Jung Hyun-nam, written by Kim Yeon-sin) depicts the comedic villain retaliation story of four women set against the backdrop of the APT. Park Ji-a brings vitality to the drama in the role of Choi Seon-ja, a community center president who dedicates her life to protecting the apartment's property value.
From the 1st to the 4th episodes broadcast, Park Ji-a showcased her unique and elegant visual appeal and playful realism, highlighting her role as a scene-stealer. Sometimes raising her voice as a representative of the residents, at other times intricately involving herself in incidents within the APT., she vividly depicted a community center president who could realistically exist.
Above all, her chemistry with Lee Si-young (playing Gong Mi-ri) was particularly prominent. Park Ji-a actively pursued a cheerful operation, even going to the gym operated by her husband (played by Jung Sang-hoon) to solve the communal trash problem, bringing laughter to the viewers. The strong bond with the residents and the scene introducing the problem-solving team, described as 'the heroes of the APT.,' significantly increased the immersion in the drama.
'Salon de Holmes' sadly became the late Park Ji-a's final work. Park Ji-a passed away in September last year after battling a cerebral infarction, evoking sorrow among many. Known for her substantial presence in various works such as 'Gidam,' 'Gonjiam,' 'The King's Affection,' 'The Good Wife,' and 'The Glory,' she showcased her unchanged passion for acting until the very end with this project.
Previously, 'Salon de Holmes' director Min Jin-ki noted to OSEN, "Park Ji-a showed an unparalleled passion for acting even while battling illness. Although neither fellow actors nor staff were aware of her illness, she never lost her smile on set and reacted fully to the performances of other actors, demonstrating her professionalism."
Although Park Ji-a has departed from her loved ones, her performance captured in 'Salon de Holmes' leaves a deep and lasting resonance.
