Drew Barrymore, a Hollywood star and popular talk show host who started as a child actor, shared an unfiltered selfie and conveyed a positive message about aging.
On the 25th (local time), Drew posted a selfie on her Instagram showing her tousled brown hair with white strands naturally visible. With a makeup-free face, she smiled brightly while wearing a faded gray printed T-shirt and created an honest atmosphere in front of a wall adorned with floral artwork.
She celebrated her birthday with her 18.3 million followers by saying, "50 = the B-side of life. This is where the real magic begins!" expressing her optimism for her second act.
Earlier, Drew noted in an interview with the AARP, "I don't know how long I have left to live, but I want to live the rest of my life differently from the A-side, in a completely new B-side."
She candidly stated on her talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, "I haven't had any procedures, and I want to keep it that way," adding, "But everyone should choose what works for them, and let's not judge each other. Everyone is on their own path."
She further emphasized, "Every time I look in the mirror, I tell myself not to be too hard on myself," stating, "The more we are patient with ourselves, embrace ourselves, and treat ourselves gently, the more positive effects it will have on our mind and spirit, and it will eventually show on our faces."
Last week, Drew also caught attention by sharing a bare-faced photo with her longtime friend and fellow actress Cameron Diaz from the movie Charlie's Angels. Along with their beaming smiles together, she added the affectionate phrase, "A thank you hug for @camerondiaz!"
Meanwhile, Drew is raising her two daughters, Olive (12) and Frankie (11), from her marriage to her ex-husband Will Kopelman. The couple married in 2012 but divorced in 2016. She also had brief marriages with Tom Green and Jeremy Thomas.
