Actress Kim Ji-ho confessed to having ADHD. As she was a beloved actress, the revelation of a hiatus due to ADHD came as a shock.
On the 23rd, the video titled "I didn't know in my 20s. What really matters" was released on broadcaster Baek Ji-yeon's YouTube channel "Now Baek Ji-yeon."
The released video features Kim Ji-ho granting an interview with Baek Ji-yeon. Kim Ji-ho expressed gratitude, saying, "I requested to appear, and they invited me," adding, "I've known Baek Ji-yeon for over 20 years. I met her before I got married," revealing their deep connection.
Now 50 years old, Kim Ji-ho spoke about menopause, stating, "I heard that doing yoga from 5 to 6 years ago makes it easier to get through menopause. So, I think starting yoga at 43 was a good decision." Kim Ji-ho noted, "I didn't know feelings of lethargy, depression, or loneliness in my life, but now I understand what those feelings are. My self-esteem dropped, and I felt so lethargic that just lying down and going to yoga became difficult. I realized how powerful hormones can be."
In particular, Kim Ji-ho surprised many by revealing that she has ADHD. She explained that she couldn't stick to one thing for long, saying, "I would get up again, run around, and then come back, laying out a blanket and looking at the sky."
Kim Ji-ho also revealed the reasons behind her long hiatus. She shared, "I ran away when projects came in. In fact, even after marriage and childbirth, projects came in. I often worried about what would happen if I couldn't pull it off. When I turned on the TV, I appeared, but I attempted several dramas in between, only to be disappointed in myself."
Kim Ji-ho continued, "I didn't have the endurance to see things through to the end. I was just thinking about finishing quickly and escaping home. Now, I regret my past choices. If it were now, I feel like I wouldn't have run away. I've finally gained some audacity and courage," adding, "I'm not receiving any roles now. The project market has hardened, and many actresses my age are doing exceptionally well."
Kim Ji-ho, who debuted in 1994 through singer Shin Seung-hun's music video "After That, For a Long Time," married actor Kim Ho-jin in 2001 and has one daughter.
