After 27 years, 'living legend of popera' Lim Hyung-joo is set to appear on 'Neighbor Millionaire,' revealing the 400-pyeong scale popera house that combines a concert hall and home for the first time on broadcast.
The episode featuring Lim Hyung-joo, a pioneer of popera's popularization in Korea and a 'popera master' who shook the world, will be aired on the 25th at 9:55 p.m. on EBS and E Channel's co-production 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire' (hereinafter 'Neighbor Millionaire'). Lim Hyung-joo plans to reveal various aspects of his 4-story mansion that serves as a popular dining spot in Mountain View, Seoul, which he occupies alone spanning an impressive 400 pyeong. The impeccably tidy kitchen, where not a speck of dust is tolerated, and the exclusive space for only acquaintances foster an endless camaraderie between Seo Jang-hoon, who is 'extraordinarily tidy,' and Lim Hyung-joo, causing laughter to ensue.
In Lim Hyung-joo's dressing room, which boasts a display cleaner than that of a department store, various stage costumes represent his 27-year musical career. He candidly shares that he invests without reservation in his outfits to show his best to the audience, noting, "These are all things I bought myself without sponsorship." From the custom-made suits ranging from 25 million won to 30 million won by luxury brand D, to the luxury jacket from brand C, which even G-Dragon owns, Lim Hyung-joo's collection of stage outfits he purchased himself is expected to be a viewing highlight.
Seo Jang-hoon, who is known for his 'steel mental fortitude,' is unable to hold back tears during Lim Hyung-joo's live performance of 'Become a Thousand Winds,' drawing attention to the context. Seo Jang-hoon noted, "I'm not mentally weak... but as I listened to the lyrics, it became so sad that I couldn't continue speaking."
Meanwhile, it is rumored that Seo Jang-hoon surprised the scene by masterfully performing 'Ave Maria' during an impromptu vocal lesson prepared by Lim Hyung-joo. Even Lim Hyung-joo, who has been teaching students at a university for 10 years, could not hide his excitement at discovering hidden talent, stating, "I think you should debut as a popera singer. I'm not lying; I was genuinely surprised."
