Park Seo-jin's father ran away due to loneliness.
On March 21 (Saturday), aired on KBS2 'The Man Who Cooks', ILLIT's Won-hee guest starred, and a vacant house was revealed with no one but Park Seo-jin's father.
The father recently got injured while working on a boat, and said he would suspend operations for the time being. Regarding his father, who even had a cast on his arm, Park Seo-jin noted, 'His arm has gotten much better, but his knee is not doing well. As he is getting older, recovery is slower, which worries me even more.'
That day, while watching TV in silence, the father looked at the mountains and exclaimed, 'The mountains are indeed nice. The trees are also tall, so it feels good. If I could live in the mountains, I would be happy,' and eventually lamented, 'When I came home, there was nothing to do. I came to Incheon to see the kids, but everyone was indifferent. I felt very disappointed. My heart feels empty and such.'
In particular, the father opened up, saying, 'When I'm at home, I'm alone with five dogs. Sometimes, I cry alone.' Watching this in the studio, Eun Ji-won mentioned, 'I heard that when he suddenly thinks of his sons, he ends up crying. Doesn't it happen more when he's alone?' referring to his siblings who have passed away.
In response, Park Seo-jin reflected, 'Watching the video, I wondered if I should have paid more attention,' while his father made a significant declaration, saying, 'I have lived for my family for seventy years, but now I want to live my own life at least once.'
The next morning, the father headed to the mountains to begin the mountain life he had always dreamed of. The father, who had lived his entire life by the sea in Samcheonpo, couldn't hide his excitement for his first mountain life, exclaiming, 'This is my world!' and was happier than ever.
At that moment, the family was completely unaware of the father's departure. Park Seo-jin was busy making goods for fans. In the meantime, a call came in from his father in the mountains. Park Seo-jin expressed her concern, saying, 'What happened was my parents' boat sank due to a hole. They were sleeping, and it was almost the same day they could have passed away.' Furthermore, sometimes his father, who had been suffering from diabetes, experiences hypoglycemic shock.
Park Seo-jin shared, 'A few hours out may not be a big deal, but I always received unexpected calls when something bad happens. He's not well now, and I'm always scared and worried about receiving such a call again.' The family asked, 'When are you coming back?' but the father responded, 'I'm not going back. I can live by eating grass,' and said, 'When a person dies, they return to nature.' Park Seo-jin pressed, 'How did you go up the mountain when your arms and legs hurt? Did you bring your diabetes medication? Come back home quickly,' but the father hung up saying, 'Don't worry about me. I'm going to live in the mountains.'
The entire family became worried, and Park Seo-jin and her brother set out to find their father. Park Seo-jin remarked, 'My father has never done anything like this. Running away at 70 without any preparation made me anxious. If it's the mountains, an ambulance can't even get in.'
Unlike the family's worries, the father's mountain life continued. At that moment, Seo-jin and her brother arrived at the mountain where their father was, and he looked quite worn compared to before. After eating the food brought by the siblings, they descended the mountain, but the father, who was left alone, stayed in the tent until the next morning, showing signs of having greatly aged overnight. The father said, 'I was so scared I couldn't sleep at all. Now that I've tried mountain life, I will be with my family, and I will never come back to the mountain again,' declaring his 'retirement as a nature person,' causing laughter.
