SBS 'Wow! Really? Is There Such a Thing in the World?' has set a 'legendary episode' with laughter, emotion, and twists in the 'Really? Fake? Special.'
In the 4th episode of SBS 'Wow Really? Is There Such a Thing in the World?' aired on the 19th, stories like 'natural curly hair', 'one-piece origami', 'room 1204 sent from the sky', and 'the strongest waterskiing' unfolded vividly in the 'Really? Fake? Special.' On this day, the 4 MCs Jun Hyun-moo, Baek Ji-young, Kim Ho-young, Subin, and 'guest' Moon Hee-joon were tasked with finding the one 'fake' among the four stories, prompting them to activate their 'eagle eyes,' while viewers also showed a tremendous response, getting remarkably absorbed in it. As a result, the 4th episode of 'Wow Really? Is There Such a Thing in the World?' recorded a peak rating of 4.6% (Nielsen Korea households in the metropolitan area).
During the opening, Jun Hyun-moo introduced the guest, H.O.T leader Moon Hee-joon, saying, "Before BTS, this person existed." He continued, "You should pay full attention today. It's a 'Really? Fake? Special.' One of the four videos is a fake created by the production team using MSG. There will be a prize if you guess the correct answer."
In a heated atmosphere, the first story featured Park Chae-yeon, known as the 'human poodle,' who shared a story related to her extremely curly hair. Park Chae-yeon, who claims to have '100% natural curly hair,' revealed, "My curls are so intense that I even had a genetic test done, which only showed East Asian genes. So far, I've spent a whopping 10 million won on magic perms." She added, "In the past, I went to a salon for a magic perm but was refused. It felt like a complex, but now I think of it as my unique charm. Currently, I work as a hair stylist specializing in curly hair," she laughed. However, Moon Hee-joon said, "That's not credible. Since you work at a salon, you probably filmed it after getting a perm (as a fake)," making everyone burst into laughter.
Next, Kim Sa-seong, a master of 'one-piece origami,' appeared. He amazed everyone by creating artistic figures, including a megalodon, an elephant and snake, and a fox, all from just one piece of paper. Immediately, he declared, "I will make a piece right now from one sheet of paper," which was accompanied by a subtitle stating '3 hours later' when the 'elephant and snake' piece was completed, prompting astonishment. Upon seeing this, Moon Hee-joon expressed skepticism, stating, "It's suspicious that you skipped the process," and noted, "You might have used several pieces glued together instead of just one."
Amidst the curiosity about whether their suspicions were correct, the third story featured the four siblings from the 'room 1204 sent from the sky.' They shared, "We have won the lottery three times since 2022, and the apartment number has always been 1204," which sent chills down everyone's spine. A representative from the lottery operations department expressed surprise in an interview with the production team, stating, "I found it hard to believe until we verified the facts."
Notably, the fourth sibling, Oh Seung-yun, recalled, "In the past, I put the money my mother sent me as a deposit and got scammed with a lease. While dealing with the hardships of the lawsuit, my mother passed away from terminal lung cancer. At that time, my mother said, 'Even after I die, I will help you buy a house,' and the house where I got scammed with the lease was room 1204," flipping the studio upside down. He added, "It feels like my mother is helping me from the sky, and my heart was heavy." Moon Hee-joon remarked, "If this story is fake, I would be genuinely shocked. Families should not be touched!" Subin also chimed in, saying, "If this story is a lie, I would lose respect for the production team."
Finally, the story of the 'strongest waterskiing' expert unfolded. Kim Ho-gyeom, who works as a rafting instructor in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province, showcased his remarkable waterskiing skills while rafting with customers. He confidently said, "Using good stones, you can even cross the river by 'water skiing.'" Shortly after, he demonstrated and successfully 'crossed' by skipping stones a remarkable 33 times.
Immediately, he said, "Actually, I played baseball until the 3rd year of high school," flaunting his friendship with first-generation major leaguer Kim Sun-woo. Furthermore, he even had a phone call with Kim Sun-woo, who greeted him warmly, saying, "Hey, Gyeom!" All four stories were hard to believe, leading the 4 MCs and Moon Hee-joon to have difficulty pinpointing the 'fake story.' After much deliberation, they decided that 'the apartment number might be wrong' and labeled 'room 1204 sent from the sky' as 'fake.'
However, the verification revealed that this was 100% true, and the 'fake story' was the 'strongest waterskiing' expert Kim Ho-gyeom. He is indeed a 'waterskiing expert' but was not a baseball player. Additionally, he had no friendship with Kim Sun-woo. Shortly after, Kim Sun-woo, in an interview with the production team, revealed, "I don't know Kim Ho-gyeom at all. My son's friend's name is Gyeom, so I casually made the phone call. However, (Kim Ho-gyeom) didn't act as well as I expected," drawing laughter with his subtle self-promotion of his acting skills.
After concluding the 'Really? Fake? Special,' Jun Hyun-moo remarked, "In essence, they were all real. These stories could evoke the phrase 'Is there such a thing in the world?' and they were just slightly seasoned with MSG," showing respect for the production team's passion. Viewers also responded positively, saying, "It was filled with laughter, emotion, and twists," and "My favorite program on Thursdays! Today was also 'time flying.'"
