The 'Running Mountain Crew' is finally challenging a full marathon, with Lee Jang-jun tearfully declaring, "I will run hoping that the Golden Child members will gather together again."
The 10th episode of the MBN special program celebrating its 30th anniversary, titled "Running to Live," will feature the miraculous journey of the 'Running Mountain Crew' challenging a full marathon after just over three months of starting their running, airing on the 21st at 8:20 p.m.
Since March, the 'Running Mountain Crew' has been challenging marathons through "Running to Live," having recently completed 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km marathons, and even trail running, demonstrating remarkable growth. On this day, Deputy Director Lee Young-pyo announces, as the 'Running Mountain Crew' gathers, "Now, there's just one thing left! The final mission is to challenge the full marathon," while Director Kwon Eun-joo adds, "It is literally a challenge. Only those who wish to challenge should do so." However, Yul-hee hesitates, saying, "It's such an immensely far number, can I really run it?" and Choi Joon-seok expresses his confusion, saying, "I really don't know about a full marathon."
Two weeks later, the 'Running Mountain' broadcast team and coaches gather at an apartment complex in Incheon. They say, "If we take a marathon route around the apartment complex, running a total of 17 laps will equal 42.195 km," as they await the 'Running Mountain Crew's challenge. At that moment, 'Ace' Lee Jang-jun makes the first appearance and receives enthusiastic applause. Notably, before the full marathon challenge, he meets Golden Child leader Lee Dae-yeol and candidly expresses his thoughts, saying in front of Lee Dae-yeol, "I hope that the Golden Child members will gather again by completing this full marathon. I will definitely complete it," while tearing up. His solemn commitment delivered through tears evokes a strong emotion, as Lee Jang-jun starts the full marathon but soon complains of ankle pain, seeking the emergency booth. Immediately, he reveals, "This is the first time I've walked during a marathon race, but actually, I had foot surgery during my trainee days. I almost couldn't debut, and remembering that time brought me into a state of 'mental breakdown.'"
Amid growing interest in whether he can successfully complete the marathon amidst a life-threatening crisis, Jo Jin-hyung is also in pain from foot soreness during the full marathon race. He stops in his tracks and expresses, "Should I give up? The pain is immense every time my foot touches the ground." Just then, Deputy Director Lee Young-pyo appears, but Jo Jin-hyung tearfully pleads, "I really felt like I was going to die. Please save me," raising questions about the circumstances leading up to his statement.
Meanwhile, Director General Sean remarks meaningfully while watching the 'Running Mountain Crew' during the race, saying, "I feel like a miracle will happen today." As he mentioned, viewers can find out whether the 'Running Mountain Crew' can deliver a miraculous race in their final mission during the 10th episode of MBN's "Running to Live," airing on the 21st at 8:20 p.m.
