A lineup of luxury actors that will add vitality to 'Colorful Days' has been revealed.
KBS2's new weekend drama 'Colorful Days' (written by So Hyun-kyung, directed by Kim Hyung-seok, produced by Studio Coming Soon) is about 'humans have colorful days for everyone. Whether now, in the past, or in the future. A family melodrama that resonates with different generations through the colorful days that have different meanings.'
Earlier, the grants of actors Jeong Il-woo, Jeong In-sun, and Yoon Hyun-min were reported, and on the 18th, actor Cheon Ho-jin, Lee Tae-ran, and Ban Hyo-jung, along with Yoon Joo-sang, Kim Hee-jung, Park Seong-geun, and Kim Jeong-young, joined the cast, which has heightened anticipation for the drama.
First, Cheon Ho-jin plays Lee Sang-cheol, the father of Lee Ji-hyuk (Jung Il-woo). Sang-cheol is a straightforward and responsible character who has quietly worked hard to support his parents and family in a difficult environment and even tries to re-enter the workforce after retirement, but ends up facing the harsh realities.
Lee Tae-ran portrays Ko Seong-hee, the stepmother of Park Seong-jae (Yoon Hyun-min), showcasing a strong presence. Seong-hee, as the hostess of the group, appears kind and elegant on the outside but is, in reality, a cold and selfish person who will stop at nothing for her own gain. Her ambition is expected to be a central driver of the major conflicts in the drama.
Meanwhile, Ban Hyo-jung appears as Jo Ok-rye, the mother of Lee Sang-cheol. As time passes, she feels a sense of doubt about her existence in the harsh reality where jobs and companions have disappeared, but due to an unexpected opportunity, she is introduced to a new world and experiences a wave of change.
Yoon Joo-sang plays Kim Jang-soo, Jo Ok-rye's outside son-in-law and the father of Da-jeong. After having lost his wife to dementia, he navigates the conflicts and comforts of life within the family fence after retirement.
Kim Hee-jung portrays Kim Da-jeong, the wife of Lee Sang-cheol and the mother of Lee Ji-hyuk. Da-jeong was a former elementary school teacher but has devoted herself to household chores, child-rearing, and caring for the ill after marriage. With a warm and loving personality, she has endured difficult times thanks to her husband Sang-cheol, but recently has been anxious, trying to maintain neutrality between her husband and son.
Park Seong-geun plays Park Jin-seok, Seong-hee's husband and Seong-jae's father. A successful businessman with an easygoing personality, he remarried Seong-hee after divorcing his first wife. He vaguely senses her ambition but gradually confronts her true nature over time.
Finally, Kim Jeong-young plays Jeong Soon-hee, the mother of Lee Eun-oh (Jeong In-sun). After losing her husband, she has relied on her daughter Eun-oh, but she grows increasingly distressed due to her son Ji-gang-oh (Yang Hyuk), who asks her to fund his business amid worsening circumstances.
The production team noted, 'As they are characters representing various generations, authentic acting and a strong presence were crucial,' and added, 'With a lineup of reliable actors like Cheon Ho-jin, Lee Tae-ran, Ban Hyo-jung, Yoon Joo-sang, Kim Hee-jung, Park Seong-geun, and Kim Jeong-young, we are confident they will strongly support the drama's core. Please look forward to their synergy that will finely capture the perspectives and emotions of various generations.'
Meanwhile, 'Colorful Days' is drawing attention as the second collaboration between writer So Hyun-kyung, who led the golden age of weekend dramas with 'My Golden Life', and director Kim Hyung-seok. KBS2's new weekend drama 'Colorful Days', where you can meet the turbulent life stories of three families with various charms and anecdotes, is set to premiere in August as a follow-up to 'For Eagle Brothers!'
