This is a perfect return of the comic queen. Lee Si-young showcased a time-slicing comic performance through 'Salon de Holmes'.
The new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Salon de Holmes' (directed by Min Jin-ki, Jung Hyun-nam / written by Kim Yeon-sin), which first aired on ENA at 10 p.m. on the 16th, is a comic romance action drama set against the backdrop of the Gwangseon Jugong APT., featuring a group of four women, including a former ace detective, an insurance king, and the queen of part-time jobs, coming together as problem solvers to take down an apartment villain.
Lee Si-young plays the role of 'Detective Holmes' Gong Mi-ri. Gong Mi-ri (played by Lee Si-young) is a character with a natural knack for sharp reasoning and quick-wittedness. From her first day in Gwangseon Jugong, she was caught in a hostage situation due to a supermarket affair incident and began searching for the mistress involved with the market manager.
Gong Mi-ri, who was held hostage at the market by the manager's wife who claimed she would kill the mistress, narrowed down the suspects while investigating. She traced clues from the secret romantic evidence found in their SNS photos, the scent of the same shampoo, and an illicit conversation exchanged through used goods trading messages. She quickly found the mistress and showcased her perfect detective skills while gathering evidence. Subsequently, Gong Mi-ri, along with Chu Kyung-ja (played by Jung Young-joo), Park So-hee (played by Kim Da-som), and Jeon Ji-hyun (played by Nam Ki-ae), formed a women's detective team in the Gwangseon Jugong APT., adding to the intrigue of the story.
Lee Si-young was indeed the comic queen. She depicted the cheerful and comic persona of the brilliant detective Gong Mi-ri with sharpness and humor, perfectly embodying her custom character 'Holmes fit'. She sparkled with hope at the thought of finally owning her dream home, displayed anger in front of her suddenly arriving in-laws, and brought a bittersweet smile that made her eyes and mouth express differently. With her vibrant acting and adorable charm, she significantly raised the audience's favor toward Gong Mi-ri from the very first episode.
Especially when the brilliant detective Holmes Gong Mi-ri showcased her reasoning skills, she added tension to the dialogue flow through dynamic modulation and heightened the immersion in the case with decisive gestures and sharp gazes. By the end of solving the case, she added warmth through empathy and understanding of the event's background, sparking expectations and curiosity about the future cases she would tackle.
