Broadcaster Lim Sung-hoon took the stage at a university festival. After 51 years, he appeared on stage again as a cheer leader, and his performance did not show his age of 74.
Recently, a video titled "The unyielding cheering power of Lim Sung-hoon, the 74-year-old cheer leader of Yonsei University" was released on social media.
The released video features Lim Sung-hoon taking the stage at the "I love Yonsei!" event held at the outdoor theater of Yonsei University on the 8th.
Lim Sung-hoon, a graduate of the Department of History at Yonsei University, is known to have served as the Director General of the cheerleading team in his senior year. In front of a crowd of juniors filling the outdoor theater, Lim showcased his undiminished cheering skills, and his lively movements at 74 years old were unbelievable.
Lim Sung-hoon recently attended the wedding of actor Lee Kwang-ki's daughter and shared his recent updates. Lim has led SBS's "There Are Such Things in the World" since May 1998 for 36 years but stepped down last May when the program went on a break.
Given the long time spent on the program, Lim showed some regret. When a rumor about cancellation arose, Lim noted, "It's difficult for me to say anything as I am watching the atmosphere and situation, but I conveyed my thoughts to reconsider the cancellation to the current affairs and culture department and the broadcasting programming side as an MC."
"There Are Such Things in the World" successfully returned as "Wow, There Are Really Such Things in the World," but there was no place for Lim Sung-hoon and his partner Park So-hyun. Jun Hyun-moo, Baek Ji-young, Kim Ho-young, and WJSN's Subin were selected as MCs instead, leading Lim to part ways with the program with regret.
Since "There Are Such Things in the World," Lim Sung-hoon is currently hosting MBN's "Lim Sung-hoon's Star Gene X Files." As he attended the wedding of actor Lee Kwang-ki's daughter while continuing to host the program, his ability to fulfill the role of cheer leader at the age of 74 has drawn attention.
