Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon opened up about her relationships with her members. Her remark that "even when I meet the members, I can't lie down and talk... it feels like work" has drawn attention.
In the episode 97 of the YouTube show 'Zzanbro,' released on the 16th, Seohyun and Hyoyeon appeared and honestly shared their thoughts on memories from their Girls' Generation days and their current relationships.
Recalling their past as roommates, Seohyun joked, "Seeing Hyoyeon drinking makes me think I shouldn't drink," and Hyoyeon disclosed, "When I'm with Seohyun, I feel like I've lived my life wrong. I even received parental-like advice from my younger sister. But rather, I'm thankful for that."
Reflecting on their time in Girls' Generation, the two said, "We didn't listen to our songs much. We didn't even know if they were good since we heard them so often," adding, "Now, they all sound great. 'Into the New World' never gets old."
However, the most eye-catching moment of the day was Hyoyeon's confession about her relationships. She noted, "When I was in my 20s, I felt that even sleep time was precious. I used to sleep just 3 hours a day," adding, "Now, when I have no schedule, I just watch TV. Even when I meet the members, I sometimes act busy," she continued with a bittersweet confession.
In particular, Hyoyeon candidly revealed, "When I meet members or someone, I can't even do 'talking while lying down' (comfortably). Meeting people feels like work," expressing her experience of social fatigue. In response, Seohyun said, "Then I'll come and visit you," to which Hyoyeon firmly replied, "No, that's uncomfortable," drawing laughter.
In contrast, Seohyun shared, "I purposefully met with people one-on-one to expand my social circle. But that's not necessarily a good thing. I felt that I was neglecting those who truly care about me," evoking deep empathy.
