Kim Tae-ho died in a fire accident at a bar in Jangmi-dong, Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, on June 17, 2018. He was 51 years old.
At that time, the secretary-general of the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association told OSEN, "The late Kim Tae-ho had gone to Gunsan to attend a golf tournament, and while there, he had a drink with acquaintances before the accident occurred."
The fire at the bar where the deceased lost his life was caused by a man in his 50s who doused the place with gasoline in a dispute over the bar bill, resulting in three fatalities. The deceased had reportedly gone to Gunsan in advance to attend a charity golf tournament and was heading to a bar to meet acquaintances when the mishap occurred.
Born in 1967, the late Kim Tae-ho debuted in 1991 as part of the KBS public recruitment class of 1991, appearing in programs such as 'Comedy World' and '6 O'Clock My Hometown,' as well as dramas like 'The Legend of Chunhyang,' 'You Are My Star,' 'The Tale of Seodong,' and 'Passionate Salesman.' He also served as the secretary-general of the KBS Broadcasting Comedians Association.
He received the Achievement Award at the 21st Korea Entertainment Awards in 2013 and the Excellence Award for MC at the 23rd Korea Entertainment Awards in 2014. Recently, he had been traveling across the nation as a specialized MC for events.
He not only did comedy but also appeared in dramas. His blog contains posts announcing his appearances in dramas like 'The Legend of Chunhyang,' 'You Are My Star,' 'The Tale of Seodong,' and 'Passionate Salesman.' The blog also includes various comedy videos and posts about lectures, suggesting his passion for comedy.
