The Busan International Comedy Festival Organizing Committee signed a business agreement with the Busanjin Cultural Foundation.
The Busan International Comedy Festival Organizing Committee (Chairperson Kim Jun-ho) signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Busanjin Cultural Foundation (Chairperson Kim Young-wook, Busanjin District Mayor) on the 16th at the Busanjin District Office, embarking on a full-scale collaboration to revitalize local performing arts and expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for citizens.
This agreement was established to explore the diversification of performance content by partnering the representative domestic comedy festival 'Busan International Comedy Festival' with local public theaters, allowing citizens to enjoy high-quality performances in closer venues. Both institutions plan to continue their collaboration in various fields, including co-planned performances, cultural exchanges, and promotional efforts.
As the first collaborative result, the 13th Busan International Comedy Festival's popular program 'Showman' will take the stage at the Baekyang Culture and Arts Center. 'Showman' is a lively live variety-format comedy performance that everyone, regardless of age, can enjoy. It has received a great response from family audiences and is expected to play a positive role in expanding the emotional rapport and communication with citizens as well as increasing the audience base in performance venues.
Kim Jun-ho, Chairperson of the Busan International Comedy Festival Organizing Committee, said, "Through collaboration with public theaters, we aim to expand the scope of the comedy genre and create venues throughout the community where laughter can be shared in everyday life," adding, "We will continue to present friendly and enjoyable cultural content to citizens through various connections with the performing arts sector."
With this agreement, the Busan International Comedy Festival Organizing Committee plans to expand multifaceted collaboration with the public sector, encompassing not only performance content planning but also promotional and infrastructural utilization, while simultaneously spreading the popularity and artistic value of comedy.
