'It's fortunate to rest' Newlywed Koyote Kim Jong-min showed a side of himself reborn as 'Kim Responsibility' after marriage.
On the 16th, in the 52nd episode of MBC's entertainment program 'It's fortunate to rest' (directed by Kim Myung-jin, Shin Hyun-bin, Lee Jun-bum, Kim Gi-ho, written by Kwon Jung-hee, hereafter 'It's fortunate'), newlywed Koyote Kim Jong-min embarked on a deserted island just a week after his wedding, leading a deserted island restaurant alongside Baekga, Park Tae-hwan, Tsuki, and Chef Lee Won-il. According to Nielsen Korea, the broadcast recorded a viewership rating of 5.1% (based on nationwide data), marking the highest among all entertainment programs aired on Monday. The 2049 viewership rating also ranked first among Monday entertainment programs, maintaining its position as the 'Monday entertainment powerhouse.'
The broadcast opened with newlywed Kim Jong-min's behind-the-scenes talk just one week after his wedding. Spending his first overnight trip after marriage on a deserted island, Kim Jong-min said, 'When I was dating, I was aware of the atmosphere, but now that I'm confidently entering the same house, it's nice,' adding, 'This being my first overnight after marriage, my wife didn't readily let me go, but seeing me work hard, I think she will be touched,' proudly sharing the sweetness of his newlywed life. He continued, 'After marriage, I feel a sense of responsibility. I will show a changed side of myself,' asking to be called 'Kim Responsibility' which raised expectations for his role as a leader.
As per his confidence, the fishing activity started off with great success. To catch a big fish, Kim Jong-min and his workers went out to the remote sea of the West Sea. True to their expectations, every net they raised was filled with fish of unprecedented sizes, creating a sense of astonishment. There were sea breams as big as Tsuki's upper body, enormous flatfish that one could even cover with, as well as various species including striped bass, mackerel, and anglerfish.
The captain acknowledged, 'Mr. Kim Jong-min has good luck in fishing,' and other workers praised him, saying, 'It seems he really married well.' Kim Jong-min himself was moved, exclaiming, 'My life suddenly changed.' Then the captain prepared a special meal with the caught seafood, such as 'sea bream sashimi' and 'steamed bream head,' stimulating viewers' appetites with their exceptional visuals and flavors. Additionally, they returned with ample catches of sea bream, flatfish, and spotted sea bass as payment, culminating the fishing trip perfectly.
In the subsequent sea urchin-hunting segment, 'national representative mermaid' Park Tae-hwan made a significant contribution, greatly enriching the ingredients. Especially, he garnered cheers from everyone by catching an octopus at the last moment. Even Kim Jong-min, who cannot swim, entered the water this time to show a new side to his wife. Although his contribution was somewhat minimal, he humorously claimed, 'I did well as a leader. Elevating the workers' sense of responsibility is also a virtue of a leader,' taking credit for the success in sea urchin hunting.
Utilizing the unprecedented seafood and spring vegetables, Chef Lee Won-il completed a three-course meal. First on the table was 'half-and-half sashimi,' a mix of sashimi seasoned with spicy red sauce and BASS base sauce. Kim Jong-min took photos of the cooking process to share with his wife and learned Chef Lee Won-il's fish filleting methods, drawing attention as a 'loving moment.' Shin Ji noted, 'The first time I realized Kim Jong-min was in a relationship was when he started taking selfies and landscape photos,' conveying that he is a kind husband who shares everything with his wife.
The second dish was 'sea bream soup dumplings,' which contained sea bream instead of meat. While everyone questioned its feasibility, Chef Lee Won-il perfectly created rich juiciness using only sea bream. The final dish was 'seafood rice pot,' generously filled with seafood. Added to it was a spicy paste made from the web-footed octopus caught during sea urchin hunting, enhancing its quality.
Thanks to leader Kim Jong-min's luck and sense of responsibility, the business at the deserted island restaurant wrapped up successfully. Member Baekga acknowledged Kim Jong-min, complimenting, 'Without Shin Ji, Kim Jong-min is the king.' It was a time to feel the completely transformed new side of Kim Jong-min after his marriage.
