Actress Cha Cheong-hwa announced that she stepped down from three projects after discovering she was pregnant.
On the 16th, a new video titled "Come on, love's emergency landing girls" was uploaded to Kim Jeong-nan's YouTube channel.
On this day, Cha Cheong-hwa said, "After getting pregnant, I stepped down from all three projects that I was supposed to take on as significant roles. I was worried that doing action scenes while being pregnant could be a burden on the co-stars," adding, "It was a villain role. So I thought, 'Finally a villain! Oh yeah!' but since I have never been pregnant, I didn't know how my body would change, so I thought I could do it."
He expressed disappointment, saying, "I thought I could do it! But the set was chaotic. Then how would they change the action scenes, and how would we start with the underwater scene? So while stepping down from everything, I..."
In response, Kim Seon-young joked, "Give it to me. I think I could have done well," to which Cha Cheong-hwa replied, "That wasn't mine."
Cha Cheong-hwa said, "I even did a costume fitting. So I was in tears. I didn't want my blessing to be a burden for everyone, so I thought it was right to step down, but tears flowed down my face," adding, "My mom said to me, 'Cheong-hwa, you are carrying the most precious work in your life, so why be upset about it? Drama can always come back later. If you can't do it now, then it's not yours.'"
She continued, "Since then, I've been focusing on prenatal education for the baby. So it became a dilemma. I've lived focusing on acting until now, but now another being other than myself is growing. Now I value my time for acting practice even more."
Meanwhile, Cha Cheong-hwa announced her pregnancy three months after marrying a younger businessman in 2023, and she gave birth last year.
