Actors Yeom Hye-ran, Lee Seo-hwan, Jung Hye-young, Park Hyung-soo, and Kim Ji-hyun will unite as key figures in the 'Seocho-dong' legal town.
The new tvN weekend drama 'Seocho-dong' (written by Lee Seung-hyun, directed by Park Seung-woo), which will first air on July 5, depicts the growth of five associate lawyers (lawyers employed by a law firm for a salary) commuting daily to the Seocho-dong legal town.
It portrays the tumultuous work life of the 'Avenjurs' (Avengers + lawyers) and predicts infinite empathy from modern individuals. Expectations are also rising for the distinctive performances of property owners and lead lawyers who will share deep chemistry with associate lawyers.
First, attention is focused on Kim Hyung-min (played by Yeom Hye-ran), the owner of Hyungmin Building. Despite being a property owner with a successful business and owning a building and a scholarship foundation named after her, Kim Hyung-min rarely shows her face, making her a mysterious figure whom even the leading lawyers have never met. It raises curiosity about the identity of the veiled 'God of property' Kim Hyung-min.
In Hyungmin Building, various law firms and legal offices are situated, each with its own characteristics depending on the traits of the lead lawyers, the scale of the law firms, and the personalities of the staff, creating an intriguing environment.
Located on the fifth floor of Hyungmin Building, the lead lawyer Sung Yu-deok (played by Lee Seo-hwan) of the working law firm Chung-gong is a businessman style who takes on any cases that come his way as long as they pay well. In his journey toward money, he pursues only his goals despite the complaints and worries of the lawyers.
In contrast, Gang Jung-yoon (played by Jung Hye-young), the lead lawyer of the working law firm Jo-hwa, sees associate lawyers as colleagues working alongside her. Always treating people with a warm and nice attitude, she sometimes displays cute moments, but her occasional authoritative demeanor contrasts with her usual behavior.
Meanwhile, Na Kyung-min (played by Park Hyung-soo), the lead lawyer of the law firm Kyung-min, embodies the pinnacle of indifference toward both work passion and the associate lawyers he employs, An Joo-hyung (played by Lee Jong-seok) and Bae Moon-jung (played by Ryu Hye-young). Despite having outstanding abilities enough to employ two associate lawyers, he maintains a consistently indifferent attitude, showing signs of creating a strange distance from An Joo-hyung and Bae Moon-jung.
Kim Ryu-jin (played by Kim Ji-hyun), the lead lawyer of the only legal office Hojeon in Hyungmin Building, boasts a strong partnership with Ha Sang-ki (played by Im Seong-jae) through her persistent drive to handle cases quickly and win them. She not only engages in all-night debates but also spares no economic rewards for her academically similar partner, igniting his dedication.
In this way, the backdrop of 'Seocho-dong', the Hyungmin Building, features diverse characters from the mysterious 'God of property' to the four unique lead lawyers, forming interesting relationships. Consequently, attention is drawn to the actions of the five associate lawyers, which will occasionally add unique tension as allies and sometimes as opponents in their work life.
The 'Seocho-dong' where property owner Yeom Hye-ran and lead lawyers Lee Seo-hwan, Jung Hye-young, Park Hyung-soo, and Kim Ji-hyun will meet the Avenjurs will first air on Saturday, July 5, at 9:20 p.m.
