Broadcaster and entrepreneur Kim So-young celebrated another milestone after becoming the CEO of a department store in Gangnam. A book she participated in as an editor has been published.
On the 16th, Kim So-young mentioned on her personal social media, along with a photo of her new book "Confessions to You," that "Five years ago in winter, a book club started as a project to deliver books and correspondence during the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking back, we read 100,000 books together."
Kim So-young said, "From December 2021 to 2025, letters from 37 authors who participated as curators of the Book Development Center Book Club have been compiled into one book. Many people may have felt disappointed that they couldn't read the book club letters due to the nature of the subscription period ending, even if they wanted to."
She continued, "I had the experience of creating a book from the perspective of an editor for the first time. I was really happy during the work of defining the purpose and meaning of this book publication with Story Jangsu Publishing, communicating with the authors, and selecting and refining the sentences of the letters to include in a physical book."
Kim So-young conveyed, "The royalties from this book are planned to be used for a project that donates necessary books to runaway youth shelters and orphanages," adding that "I will continue the miracle that each author has gathered their hearts for the benefit of more people."
Previously, Kim So-young revealed that her launched healthcare brand had opened a pop-up store in a department store in Gangnam. Her husband, Oh Sang-jin, also attended the pop-up store to provide support.
While the book that Kim So-young edited was published during the operation of the pop-up store, she is continuing her daily life as a businesswoman.
Meanwhile, Kim So-young and Oh Sang-jin developed their relationship from being MBC announcer colleagues to a romantic partnership, and after two years of dating, they held their wedding in April 2017. Additionally, Kim So-young has been working as a freelance broadcaster since leaving MBC in 2017 and is involved in various businesses, including a bookstore and curation shop.
