Mnet 'BOYS II PLANET' has successfully wrapped up its first official meeting with star creators, opening the curtain to a fierce journey toward debut.
The global project Mnet 'BOYS II PLANET' (directed by Kim Shin-young, Jeong Woo-young, Ko Jeong-gyeong) aiming for the top K-POP boy group held its first official offline event 'PLANET DAY : OPEN STAGE' on 14th (Saturday) at Sangam DMC Park. As the stage for the signal song 'HOLA SOLAR' was unveiled, interest in the 160 boys surged, and the venue where they faced star creators for the first time was hotter than ever.
Before PLANET DAY even started, the interest in 'BOYS II PLANET' boys poured in on X (formerly Twitter), as well as in domestic and international communities, and on Weibo, one of the major social platforms in China. Numerous fans from both home and abroad, who gathered from the day before the event, packed the area, savoring the first moments of the boys' debut journey as 'star creators'. Many fans unable to attend the event calmed their disappointment by watching the live broadcast on the official Instagram account.
Since this PLANET DAY was conducted with the largest number of participants in the history of survival programs, it was specially organized in a runway format to showcase the charm of the 160 boys while capturing the unique 'Sangam vibe' of Mnet auditions. Star creators stirred the venue with enthusiastic cheers every time participants, grouped in 4 to 5, appeared on stage. Not only were participants with diverse activity backgrounds given attention, but new faces also garnered interest, vividly demonstrating the rich and wide spectrum of 'BOYS II PLANET'.
The 160 boys also displayed their individuality and charm in the atmosphere that quickly turned into a festival, momentarily putting aside their excitement at their first meeting with the star creators. In particular, the boys, who made eye contact and greeted fans one by one, presented handwritten message cards to the star creators as a heartfelt thank you.
This PLANET DAY once again made it clear that 'BOYS II PLANET' is a K-POP global project attracting worldwide attention. Related keywords dominated real-time trends and search charts on major global social platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Weibo, with enthusiastic reactions such as "as expected", "participants' skills and looks are all top-notch", "the open stage is so exciting", "the return of audition powerhouse Mnet", and "where did they find such talents? The new faces are amazing!".
After PLANET DAY concluded, star creators passionately shared stories about their 'bias', losing track of time, and were busy looking up profiles uploaded to Mnet Plus or liking and commenting on personal evaluation stage videos available until 10 a.m. on the 15th. Moreover, the challenge video for the participants' version of the signal song 'HOLA SOLAR' jumped into the real-time trend chart as soon as it was uploaded, showing the ongoing immense interest from star creators worldwide.
Already captivating many fans' hearts, 'BOYS II PLANET' is set to air its first broadcast of 'BOYS 2 PLANET K' and 'BOYS 2 PLANET C' on July 17th (Thursday) and 18th (Friday) at 9:20 p.m. on Mnet.
