The "Martian couple" appears in "Marriage Hell."
Today (16th), in the MBC program "Oh Eun-young Report – Marriage Hell (abbreviated as Marriage Hell)," the wife says that talking to her husband leads her to Andromeda, while the frustrated husband does not understand the wife's worldview. They seek out Dr. Oh Eun-young.
In today's broadcast, the couple's morning routine, which includes a deep cleaning session together from the morning, will be revealed. When the wife calls, "Oppa~" the husband jumps up to solve her request, and upon hearing she hasn't eaten, he heads to the kitchen to cook, impressing the MCs with his love for her. The two met online with a 21-year age difference. The husband initially thought the wife was a Chinese expatriate but later learned that she had defected from North Korea and he helped her settle in Korea.
Later, the two fell in love and lived together for 16 years before officially getting married two years ago. After finishing the cleaning, they enjoy a delicious meal together. However, when the wife asks, "What were you thinking when you brought me to Korea?" the husband gives an ambiguous answer, saying he brought her out of "good intentions." The wife cannot hide her surprise at the realization that the husband helped her out of pity rather than love. To that wife, the husband responds, "I married you because you wanted me to," shocking the MCs who were watching. What does the husband mean by "good intentions?"
The wife expresses dissatisfaction, saying she and her husband do not have typical "tiki-taka" conversations. Unlike the wife, who wants to share trivial stories from daily life, the husband tends to discuss only important matters. On weekend mornings, the wife constantly shares small stories with her husband, but due to his indifference, it often ends up being a monologue. The wife laments, "I hardly have any time sitting with my husband except when we eat together."
However, the husband reveals that he prefers being alone and shows that even on weekends, when couples typically relax together, he leaves to go hiking, leaving his wife behind. He states that "freedom" is important to him and believes that "marriage is a constraint," which angers the wife. He further shocks Dr. Oh Eun-young by revealing that he has never considered marriage or having children since he was young and had a vasectomy at the age of 30. The wife blames him, asking why he didn't mention such thoughts before marriage. Despite his firm values, why did he choose to marry her?
In the continuing daily video, the husband seems to have something to do and heads to his room. The MCs are taken aback by the sight of more than five monitors set up at his computer. The husband has a somewhat unfamiliar job as a "FX margin trader." He reveals that he previously ran a real estate business but closed it down to pursue his "dream." His dream is to accumulate "10 billion won." He began thinking about what he could leave for humanity and decided to create a "paradise on earth" for world peace, and since then, he has been earning money with the goal of "10 billion."
On the other hand, upon hearing her husband's dream, the wife cannot hide her astonishment, asking, "Why are you trying to save humanity, Oppa?" The husband insists that he values living with others more than himself and clashes with the wife, who only thinks of herself. He goes on to express that he feels frustrated because the wife does not recognize his values and tries to pull him into her perspective. The episode airs tonight at 10:45 p.m.
