Actress Shim Eun-kyung is cast in the drama 'How to Become a Building Owner in Korea' (scripted by Oh Han-ki, directed by Lim Pil-sung) and is returning to domestic television. The meeting with Ha Jung-woo and Lim Soo-jung, as well as her first collaboration with director Lim Pil-sung, is attracting attention.
According to OSEN's report on the 16th, Shim Eun-kyung has confirmed her appearance in 'How to Become a Building Owner in Korea' and joined the golden lineup.
'How to Become a Building Owner in Korea' depicts the story of financially struggling building owners who have become 'building owners' that everyone dreams of, showing the process of getting involved in crime to protect family and buildings, which are more precious than life. The drama aims to convey both intense tension and a weighty message through the stark reality hidden behind the symbol of wealth and the desperate characters involved in an abduction plot.
Shim Eun-kyung plays a character who returns to her homeland after being internationally adopted for a long time. Life in Seoul is unfamiliar and harsh for her, and she is expected to play a major role in the increasingly tangled events. Shim Eun-kyung is anticipated to delicately depict the underbelly of Korean society through the perspective of an outsider, enhancing the immersion of the drama with her deep emotional performance.
This work is the latest by director Lim Pil-sung, who directed films such as 'Madame Bbangdeok' and 'Persona,' and actors Ha Jung-woo and Lim Soo-jung are expected to portray a married couple in the drama.
Shim Eun-kyung has showcased a wide range of performances in various works at home and abroad since winning the Best Actress award at the 43rd Japanese Academy Awards in 2020. This project marks her return to domestic drama after about a year since the Wave original drama 'Park Ha-kyung's Travelogue,' promising another life-changing performance with its solid narrative and strong characters. Last year, she made her return to the screen after six years through 'The Killers,' presenting another depth-changing transformation.
Meanwhile, 'How to Become a Building Owner in Korea' is currently in the final stages of casting and plans to start filming in earnest in the second half of this year.
