Actress Ko So-young showcased luxury vintage items over 30 years old, once again proving the 'standard of luxury.'
Recently, through her YouTube channel 'That Is Ko So-young,' Ko displayed her cherished long-held collection, sharing stories filled with sentiment, memories, and love.
Ko said, 'These are things that are at least 20 to 25 years old. They have my fingerprints on them,' explaining, 'Some were passed down from my mother, and there are many items I bought with my own money.' She further noted, 'I have lived for a long time, right? Fashion cycles around,' emphasizing the value of vintage.
What caught particular attention is that all these collectibles may be passed down to Ko's daughter or future daughter-in-law. Ko remarked, 'I could give them to my daughter, and I will have a daughter-in-law someday. I plan to give one to her every time she does something beautiful,' adding, 'However, it has to appeal to my heart.'
On that day, Ko also pulled out the belt she wore during the promotion of the 1997 film 'Beat.' She joked, 'Back then, I was in a shape that could show my belly,' attempting to wear it again but ultimately failing. The event was filled with laughter from her self-deprecating humor.
She continued, 'At that time, there were no stylists. I resolved everything myself,' adding, 'Since I was young, my mother advised me not to buy 10 items, but to buy one good pair of earrings.' While mentioning the rise in gold prices, she offered a realistic piece of advice, saying, 'Back then, I bought it for 40,000 won, but now, even selling it simply holds much higher investment value.'
Ko stated, 'Buying vintage is not just about acquiring items, it's about buying that 'time.' In leather, oil comes out. To keep it beautiful, you have to carry it around often and give it love,' revealing her philosophy on collectible value.
Finally, she added, 'These items contain my brilliant 20s,' noting, 'Items that are tarnished are even better. They remind me of that time.'
