Actress Shin Ae-ra expressed anger over the 'death' fake news.
On the 14th, Shin posted a short video on her social media with the comment, "I am alive^^".
The released video features Shin Ae-ra outdoors, where she introduced, "This is a facility with nearly 50 boys. I came here today to make burgers myself."
She then remarked, "I want to offer a special greeting today," saying, "I am alive and not dead. A person who came to volunteer with me said they called me yesterday crying, asking if Shin Ae-ra had died," referencing the fake news.
She stated, "I am not dead. Why would you post such nonsensical news? What on earth is wrong with you? What benefits do you gain from spreading such horrible news?" She added, "I'm not the only one. While watching YouTube, I noticed many celebrities have supposedly passed away," unable to hide her astonishment.
Shin said, "Everyone, do not believe it. If such an article comes out and you are curious, check the name. As long as it is not reported by a credible outlet, it is all fake. Never believe it. Since I am alive and healthy, I hope all of you stay healthy too."
Yoon Yoo-seon, who saw the post, also expressed her views, saying, "Right, many people asked me too... There are so many fake news stories that it seems we need training to discern them well."
Previously, in March, Shin had expressed anger over a 'arrest rumor' fake news created with deepfake technology. She warned, "Do not be deceived by such absurd tactics. The agency is considering legal action, so I hope you stop any illegal activities immediately. It's a nice day, and I'm very angry."
