Actor Kim Kang-woo revealed his secret to staying enthusiastic in his 15th year of marriage.
On the 13th, Kim Kang-woo, a charismatic actor who has earned the nickname 'the nation's brother-in-law' as the brother-in-law of Han Hye-jin, appeared as a 'food friend' on MBN's "Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2."
On this day, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube, who had come to Daegu, headed to eat mixed raw fish, recommended by announcer Park Eun-jung, who worked with Jun Hyun-moo during his newscasting days. As a guest, actor Kim Kang-woo joined to share a variety of stories.
Kim Kang-woo recently started a YouTube channel and said, "I used to avoid variety shows because I am shy and not very talkative, but I received a lot of misunderstandings – people thought I was very cold, sensitive, and difficult to approach." He added, "I thought about starting it since YouTube allows me to show myself without pressure, and I gathered the courage to begin."
As the video has surpassed 200,000 views and received good feedback, YouTube senior Kwak Tube advised Kim Kang-woo, "These days, many people enjoy vlogs. The production team shouldn't be large, and there shouldn't be any intervention from the producer. The best thing for YouTube is to be natural." Jun Hyun-moo added, "At this point, you should start charging consulting fees," which brought laughter.
The three of them, who enjoyed mixed raw fish along with flat dumplings and grilled beef, marveled at the sweet and tangy spicy taste. Kim Kang-woo, who maintains the same weight he had in high school, responded, "It's not that I tried to maintain it, but my height hasn't changed, so my weight hasn't changed either," eliciting jeers from Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube. Jun Hyun-moo exclaimed, "That's absurd. Who says something like that?"
Kwak Tube asked, "Aren't you hungry at night?" Kim Kang-woo replied, "I am hungry. Eating is a habit for me. Try to hold back. If I'm hungry at 11 p.m., I eat a banana." He then advised, "The important thing is not to eat three large meals, but instead eat five small meals," suggesting a collaboration with Kwak Tube, saying, "Let's do YouTube together one time," which elicited laughter.
Kim Kang-woo, who married the sister of actress Han Hye-jin in 2010, is a father of two sons, in 2nd grade middle school and 6th grade elementary school, and is nicknamed 'the Kim Kwan-sik of Bangbae-dong.'
In response to Jun Hyun-moo's comment that it must be quite a cost for food, Kim Kang-woo said, "It costs a lot, indeed. I almost always order meat by the kilogram." He mentioned that he also cooks for his children, saying, "I cook Chinese food a lot. I've learned some dishes like jajangmyeon and mapo tofu while working with chef Yeonbok. We have two sons, so during vacation, they eat five meals a day. Just that alone is quite substantial."
Now in his 15th year of marriage, when asked if there was ever a feeling of weariness, he candidly replied, "Doesn't that require some leisure? After I got married, I had a child just two months later, and right after that, I had another son two years apart. We both dedicated ourselves to that."
When asked if they argued, he said, "Not at all. That's what I appreciate. When I was working, she fully prioritized that time just for me. While it's something I can naturally accept as an actor, it's really a tremendous consideration," expressing gratitude toward his wife.
To this, Jun Hyun-moo remarked, "She's truly a partner and like a friend. Exactly what I desire," admiringly.
