Actor Lee Mi-sook reported that she suffered around 60 million won in damages due to a phishing crime.
On the 12th, a video titled "Lee Mi-sook, the first meeting with ChatGPT. Can we get married?" was uploaded to Lee Mi-sook's YouTube channel. Lee Mi-sook said, "I think I got phished after accessing an internet browser I was using," adding, "At that time, my bank account was cleaned out, and around 50 million to 60 million won disappeared," sharing her phishing victim experience.
Lee Mi-sook noted, "The hacker made transactions with my credit card registered on my phone from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., for four hours," adding, "When I asked the police, they said there's a structure where products bought online can be converted into cash."
She continued, "Since the hackers cloned my phone, they saw everything, like my card PIN and transaction details. I was really shocked," adding, "I was so scared that from then on, I don't do anything on my phone. I'm afraid everything will get cleaned out."
