The court has made a decision to impose a provisional seizure of two APT.s owned by Kim Se-eui, head of the Garosero Research Institute, located in Seoul. The creditor is actor Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist.
On the 11th, Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative, LKB & Partners, stated to OSEN, "It is true that the provisional seizure was granted."
Kim Soo-hyun's side explained, "There are several provisional seizure cases; first, there is the Gaseyeon sponsorship account. The provisional seizure of the sponsorship account was conducted on the 20th of May, and this is a joint creditor case with actor Kim Soo-hyun and Gold Medalist. Additionally, the home of Kim Se-eui was seized on the 9th of June, where the creditor is Gold Medalist."
With this provisional seizure granted, could Kim Soo-hyun's damage compensation lawsuit against Gaseyeon proceed favorably? In this regard, Kim Soo-hyun's side explained, "There is a damage compensation lawsuit filed against Kim Se-eui, but even if we win, if there are no assets, there is no way to collect. Therefore, provisional seizure is necessary to secure assets so that they can be retrieved if we win. When applying, we must explain the reasons for doing this. It seems the court deemed the reasons valid based on its review."
Earlier that day, a media outlet reported that the Seoul Central District Court granted the provisional seizure request for two properties under the name of Kim Se-eui: a 120.27㎡ APT. in Seocho, Seocho District, and a 208.65㎡ APT. in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam District on the 9th.
Among the two APT.s, the APT. in Hanyang 4th is jointly owned (50% share) by Kim Se-eui and his older sister, so the provisional seizure was established only for the share owned by Kim Se-eui. The claimed amount is 2 billion won each, for a total of 4 billion won.
Meanwhile, the late Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her residence in Seongdong District, Seoul, on Feb. 16. After the funeral, the bereaved family claimed through the YouTube channel "Garosero Research Institute" (abbreviated as "Gaseyeon") that she had been in a relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun from the time she was 15 years old for six years.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side denied having had a relationship with the deceased while she was a minor and filed a complaint against the bereaved family of Kim Sae-ron and Gaseyeon for violations of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act and the Information and Communications Network Act concerning defamation. Additionally, a damage compensation lawsuit of approximately 12 billion won was also filed.
