Recently, following a meeting with his biological mother after 44 years, Lee Geon-joo got to meet his biological younger brother who was adopted to France. Lee Geon-joo, who grew up under the care of his grandmother and aunt during childhood, said that he only learned of the existence of his two-year-younger biological brother after he grew up and was informed by his aunt.
Fortunately, Lee Geon-joo knew the exact name of his younger brother. He said that his younger brother's name is Geon-cheol. When asked if he wanted to meet his younger brother, Lee Geon-joo remarked, "I really want to meet him." Unlike his feelings toward his parents, he stated, "I always wanted to meet my younger brother. If I meet him, I want to say on behalf of my parents that I am so sorry and that he has gone through a lot, even though I didn't know it myself. I want to hug him," he said, his eyes reddening.
Lee Geon-joo was depicted arriving in France. He first learned about his younger brother's whereabouts through social media. Before heading to Lyon in France, he met with an interpreter due to the language barrier with his younger brother for communication.
Thus, he arrived at Lyon train station, where his younger brother is. He arrived at the train station with a mix of excitement and heavy feelings. Lee Geon-joo mentioned, "I only informed him what time I would arrive," adding that he was nervous and worried that his younger brother might not want to meet him.

When asked about their first meeting, the younger brother said, "I first met my brother 18 years ago." In fact, it was revealed that Lee Geon-joo met his younger brother when he was 27 and his younger brother was 25. They shared pictures from 18 years ago when their great-aunt and grandmother lived together. They recounted the past when Lee Geon-joo was in Seoul to find his biological family while traveling.
Although the siblings who had been separated for life met again, communication was not easy. After the first meeting, it was noted that the siblings gradually grew distant. They both left Korea due to some misunderstandings after the first meeting. They struggled to communicate effectively because neither of them spoke English well, which led to misunderstandings. However, the younger brother expressed happiness at being reunited, stating, "I was really happy to see my brother again."
