Director Namgoong-min and actress Jeon Yeo-bin's film is set to premiere.
On the 13th, the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Our Movie' (directed by Lee Jung-heum, written by Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min, produced by Studio S and Beyond J) is generating a gentle wave by releasing a highlight video.
The first released video starts with a question from Lee Da-eum (played by Jeon Yeo-bin), filled with anxiety about whether the film can be completed, to which Lee Je-ha responds, "We must complete it. We will complete it." This single scene leads one to imagine the numerous adversities the two will face from the moment they decided to film.
Next, while the two seem to be having an ordinary conversation about dreams, Lee Da-eum's earnest appeal, "Director, even if it hurts. I can watch movies, attend auditions, and love. So, I can film too," reminds us that the starting line of this film is different. The film they are to shoot carries the risky burden of assigning a terminally ill role to an actor whose life has a predetermined end.
In particular, it foreshadows an even lonelier journey, as no one is on their side. Film producer Boo Seung-won (played by Seo Hyun-woo) cannot shake his doubts about Lee Da-eum's potential, and in response, Lee Je-ha asserts a strong belief in the actor he has chosen, saying there is something they don't have.
Meanwhile, Lee Da-eum stands her ground in front of her father Lee Jung-hyo (played by Kwon Hae-hyo), who opposes her filming. During her declaration that she would rather live half a year like this than fully for one year in a hospital, Lee Jung-hyo is left speechless. Instead of his resolute daughter, when he seeks out director Lee Je-ha, he poignantly asks, "Is it fun to make a terminally ill person perform a terminally ill role?" Moreover, actress Chae Seo-young (played by Lee Seol) does not shy away from calling Lee Je-ha crazy, indicating that the opposition from those around them is hurting the two.
Despite these challenges, Lee Je-ha and Lee Da-eum are gradually revealing their deepening emotions and changes, both in front of and behind the camera. The sight of the two individuals throwing themselves into the film without reservation in front of an end that has been predetermined is touching. In particular, Lee Je-ha's last words, "Lee Da-eum, can't you live?" add an extra pang to the heart.
In this way, the radiant and shining courage of Lee Je-ha and Lee Da-eum, who are determined to complete what everyone opposes in 'Our Movie,' resonates deeply. It raises the question of whether they will successfully finish the film, just as the answer filled with Lee Je-ha's determination suggests.
