Amid malicious graffiti attacks targeting singer BoA, SM Entertainment has warned of legal action.
SM Entertainment stated on the afternoon of the 11th through an official position, "We have confirmed through valuable reports from fans and our own monitoring that numerous instances of graffiti that publicly insult artist BoA have been found throughout Seoul. After checking the site near Gangnam Station, we filed a report, and an investigation is ongoing at the local police station. Additionally, we plan to submit a formal complaint today."
Furthermore, "Acts that damage the personality and honor of our affiliated artists by posting false information, and acts that insult artists for the purpose of defamation are clearly criminal acts. We will respond firmly without any leniency to such criminal acts, based on principles," it emphasized.
SM noted, "We are continuously monitoring the dissemination of false information, malicious personal attacks, and insults occurring on various social media, video-sharing platforms, and online communities targeting BoA, and we are regularly initiating complaint procedures for issues that are clearly criminal acts."
Recently, malicious graffiti attacks targeting BoA have been detected in the Gangnam area of Seoul. Insults directed at BoA were being transcribed as graffiti at public transportation stops and billboards around Gangnam Station, Sinnonhyeon Station, and Yeoksam-daero. Graffiti was also spotted in the Gwangjin and Gangdong districts of Seoul.
