Actor Namgoong Min is making a comeback to SBS after three years through "Our Movie."
The production presentation for the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Our Movie" (directed by Lee Jung-heum, written by Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min, produced by Studio S and Beyond J) was held on the afternoon of the 10th at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul, with director Lee Jung-heum and actors Namgoong Min, Jeon Yeo-been, Lee Seol, and Seo Hyun-woo in attendance.
"Our Movie" is a drama that portrays a love story that cannot be postponed about film director Lee Je-ha (played by Namgoong Min), who has no tomorrow, and actress Lee Da-eum (played by Jeon Yeo-been), whose today is the last, and it is set to air on the 13th.
On this day, director Lee Jung-heum introduced the work by saying, ""Our Movie" feels like a drama without grand phrases or decorative language. It focuses on the characters' emotions and tells a story about love and separation in a serene way that keeps lingering in your mind; it is a genuine melodrama."
Namgoong Min, who plays the role of film director Lee Je-ha, opened up about his preparation for the character, saying, "Honestly, I didn't prepare anything special. I have previously been a short film director, so I didn't prepare anything in particular for this role."
Namgoong Min said, "In fact, thinking back to the first day of filming, I was dressed up to look like a director. The director said that the male lead should look good, so I remember getting ready for that. More than being a director, it seems I prepared a lot as a man who loves someone, a man who loves a woman."
In particular, Namgoong Min, who is making a comeback to SBS after three years through "Our Movie" following "The Thousand Won Lawyer," noted, "Rather than having any special resolution, I think I did my best not to leave any regrets as I always do. I worked hard, and rather than focusing on my emotions, I would like to talk about my chemistry with Yeo-been. I tried to express the love that feels realistic and unexaggerated, rather than a dramatic romance or situations like that, in a delicate and detailed way."
He continued, "My partner is really important, and I thought eye contact with the other person is crucial to express that. While working with actress Jeon Yeo-been for the first time, I was really surprised by how much effort she puts in, and I received good energy, enough that it became a turning point for me while doing this drama. So I feel like, rather than acting, we were very natural as if we were really in love. I hope the viewers can focus on those parts."
Meanwhile, the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Our Movie" is set to premiere at 9:50 p.m. on the 13th (Friday).
