The group BOYNEXTDOOR is gaining high popularity in Japan.
According to a report from the Recording Industry Association of Japan on the 10th, BOYNEXTDOOR (Seongho, Ryu, Myungjaehyun, Taesan, Ihan, Unhak)'s mini album 4, 'No Genre,' has shipped over 100,000 copies locally, earning a Gold Disc 'Gold' certification (as of May 2025). The Recording Industry Association of Japan awards Gold Disc certifications based on cumulative shipments of singles and albums every month: Gold (over 100,000 copies), Platinum (over 250,000 copies), Double Platinum (over 500,000 copies), Triple Platinum (over 750,000 copies), and Million (over 1 million copies).
BOYNEXTDOOR has shown a strong influence in Japan by receiving Gold Disc certifications for both their previous work '19.99' and 'No Genre.' The album 'No Genre,' released last month, topped both the Oricon 'Weekly Album Ranking' and 'Weekly Combined Album Ranking' (reporting period May 12-18), and also swept No. 1 on Billboard Japan's 'Top Album Sales' and 'Hot Albums' during the same period. In particular, following their mini album 2 'HOW?' and mini album 3 '19.99,' they achieved a remarkable third consecutive win in the Oricon Weekly chart.
Previously, the six members achieved two consecutive million-selling albums with 1,166,419 copies sold in the first week of sales (based on the release date) according to the Hanteo Chart for 'No Genre.' Additionally, this album entered the Billboard 200 chart in the United States at No. 62 (for the chart dated May 31). Thus, they have continued to make appearances on the Billboard 200 chart for four consecutive albums, demonstrating their strengthened presence.
BOYNEXTDOOR will hold their 'BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR 'KNOCK ON Vol.1' ENCORE IN JAPAN' at the Keio Arena in Tokyo (formerly Musashino Forest Sports Plaza Main Arena) for three days from the 28th to the 30th. This encore performance is organized in response to the support from their global fandom for their first solo tour. Their tour will conclude with the final concert held at KSPO DOME in Seoul from the 25th to the 27th of next month.
