The SBS entertainment show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' (hereafter 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2'), aired on the 9th, featured the couple Song Jaerim and Jisoyeon. Jisoyeon became more famous after marrying Song Jaerim. Recently, she has been focusing more on her business than on her activities in the entertainment industry.
Jisoyeon said, 'People think I'm living off my husband because he is an actor, but I am a company representative in my third year. I started with zero capital and achieved sales of 1 billion won last year,' revealing her identity as an entrepreneur.
Operating an advertising agency, Jisoyeon was seen visiting motels with her husband Song Jaerim to examine potential new business opportunities. Jisoyeon explained, 'The reason for visiting motels is that I want to expand into new businesses. I am considering expansions like theme parks,' revealing that she acquired a motel for 3.3 billion won.
In response to his wife, Song Jaerim stated, 'My wife shouldn't be doing housework. She is someone who needs to go out and earn money. I realized this talent for making money and regretted not discovering it sooner. Jisoyeon is truly an amazing person. She is my role model.'
There was a reason for Song Jaerim's praise. Jisoyeon's generosity was notable, as she bought her husband a car worth about 200 million won. Song Jaerim mentioned, 'When I first heard my wife was starting a business, I thought she had big dreams. But every time she earns money and issues an invoice, I feel like she could even become president,' heaped with compliments about his wife.
Jisoyeon accompanied her husband Song Jaerim to business meetings. However, she was somewhat annoyed by Song Jaerim's humorous demeanor. When Jisoyeon pointed this out, Song Jaerim became upset, saying, 'If that's the case, wouldn't it be better to hire someone you want?' Jisoyeon replied, 'That's too extreme. I'm just trying to approach this for work, and if we're going to do it like that, then let's not do it at all. I wish you wouldn't say such things; it feels very irresponsible.'
Jisoyeon didn't start her business from the beginning. In fact, during the early years of their marriage, she couldn't do anything because of her husband Song Jaerim's patriarchal views. She wasn't even allowed to meet friends or study. It was the eight months living separately in New Zealand that transformed Jisoyeon.
Jisoyeon stated, 'So I once prayed to be allowed to be legally separated, saying that I had even done that. The time spent in nature was when I could truly be myself. There was no one judging me, and it was a grateful time to face my existence as it is.'
On the other hand, Song Jaerim felt very lonely without his wife. However, upon hearing that these eight months were happy for Jisoyeon, he changed his perspective. Currently, Song Jaerim has taken on domestic responsibilities while challenging himself in interior design, transforming into a supportive husband for Jisoyeon. Jisoyeon also shared, 'It was uncomfortable for me to spend money received from Song Jaerim, and I thought I wanted to show him something, which led me to take action after returning from New Zealand, resulting in my business success.'
